Don't think that's odd at all. I have one of those bears, a fluffy rabbit and a fluffy tiger. They all join me in bed when OH is on-call/away (and sometimes when he isn't:D) anything to keep the heat in and the heating off.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
Hello
I planned all my prep yesterday (i seem to do more planning than actual prepping) but with hubbys help, shop and scan vouchers and a few other freebies/vouchers all of our winter prep will be finished by the begining of november.
just found out this morning that hubby is now on the waiting list for an operation. this comes almost a year to the day that we found out he is infertile.
is it really bad of me to be thinking of taking out life insurance even though its a minor op? im just so worried that if anything happens to him i will lose our home and as a result our dogs and be left on the streets with debt and no job.
what with this and my dads brain tumour and both of the inlaws awaiting ops, plus the fact that we are due our first annual review with payplan too im feeling very fragile.
my stomach is in knots.
i have so much to be doing but i feel a bit like the depression is coming back (hardly surprising) i dont seem to be able to move from the sofa.
and now the inflation has gone up and im not that smart but im assuming this is not good?
i am dreading christmas, i used to love christmas so much and now i just dont feel like i want to spend any money on it and i just dont want to do it this year at all.
im trying very hard not to sink into deep blackness by organising a dinner over at our friends house (she is doing the main, im doing the pud) and we have a meal out on sunday but we arent going to eat just join them for drinks as we cant afford to spend on eating out and we are a bit worried about it because of their reactions and also worried that my dad is going to announce his *news* and shock everyone.
Im looking forward to the bad weather just so i can use it as an excuse to hibernate!
I suppose i had better go hang the washing out seen as it is taking 2 days to dry at the moment!Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Dear ChirpyChic,
just wanted to send you a big hug. I suffer from depression but I have been really lucky so far that I am not letting the darkness take over. With everything that is going on in your life, i am impressed your still upright.
Take care petal, big hugs

Posted on the Tougher thread, but thought it might help people here too:
I have just had an email letting me know that my local fire & rescue service, in partnership with Age UK and Trading Standards, will be carrying out free testing of electric blankets at local fire stations over the next week or so. It also says that "subject to availability, the Fire Service will replace, free of charge, any electric blanket they deem unsafe". This seems like a great service to me - maybe it's happening in other areas too?

Chirpy - I think you are entitled to be depressed with all that on your plate. Have a cuddle with IOIWE and try to deal with one thing at a time. Best wishes.0
