I was hoping you could help, I need some thermal leggings for the walk to/from work, and I was wondering which are worth getting? I'm loathe to buy some from Primark in case they turn out to be rubbish and I have to buy more from elsewhere, as that would be false economy, yet I don't want to spend M&S prices if I can get decent ones much cheaper. Any recommendations?
Welcome Blue - sorry can't help with the leggings but wanted to say hello :wave:0 -

I'm so sorry! Where are my manners?! *apologises profusely* *WAVES at everyone!*
hullo!
Sorry, just mind's in several places at once. I shouldn't let it wander, it's too small and fragile to be let out by itself!0 -
Just want to send hugs to (((((Chirpy))))) and anyone else struggling.
It was so cold here last night, even with fluffy PJs and layers on my bed. So today I put on the new flannel sheets and put an old fleece on top of the mattress. I forgot my hot water bottle last night but won't make that mistake tonight as it is cold again tonight, set to get down to 2C.
I also remembered to drain the outside tap today, it's burst twice in the past but last time I got the plumber to put an isolation valve on so I can leave the tap open. Unfortunately the way the pipe is, there is a small bit still filled with water but hopefully it won't burst. It is lagged but there are small gaps which I will try to cover with something. Also bubblewrapped the single-glazed window in the hall - hopefully it will help. And I am waiting for some fleece material to be delivered to hang as door curtains.
Hope you're all ok and staying cosy. xTrying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Hello Chirpy, be kind to yourself, you have an awful lot going on. As someone else mentioned, most of the situations are out of your control so concentrate on looking after yourself - both for your sake and for the people you care about. Keep posting, that will help even in a small way. I have experienced bouts of depression in the past (thankfully been fairly ok for a while, "just" anxiety to cope with sometimes) and some of of the other stuff you mention so your post struck a chord with me. Let us all know how you're doing tomorrow, even if just to say hello.
ps typing this while DH is propped up on pillows holding his kindle, eyes shut and happily snoring. Will have to wake him soon but then he will want the light off and I'll have to log off so will have a few more mins on OS. Our middle-aged version of an "early night" .... me on the lappy and him with his kindle :rotfl:

DirtPoorGuy Have you ever eaten that stuff? We have never worked out whether the 'rat pack' as its affectionately known in the forces describes the ingredients or the intended recipient:rotfl:
Having said that, it lasts forever - and is HIGHLY calorific.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -

I've got one too...luckily i bought mine with some red letter day vouchers given to me by work......it replaced the loudest alarm ever that played yankee doodle dandy....went off so loud it made you jump
I also got a blue light last year which I got cheap because i was testing it and writing reviews.....it made a great difference to my mood. Which reminds me to dig it out at some point this week and charge up before the clocks change.
I also take vitamin D supplements....not too sure if they do anything but I like to think they doAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -

My DD has had the thermals from primarni and found them great, she was working in a train station at the time near the wide open mahoosive doors in the freezing cold.
Washed OK in the machine on 30 although I didn't put them in the tumble dryer, they seem to dry pretty fast though on the maiden.
Hope this helps.0
