Posted a BAD review on TrustPilot and Fischer are trying to get it removed, I have sent them all the paperwork we have on the issue.
Imagine my total lack of shock.
  • Was scouting around for a storage heater replacement and spotted a Fischer ad in a magazine. Worth a look I thought. My suspicions were raised when I couldn't figure out how it supposedly works with Economy 7 but not Economy 10 (we've got a thermal store and wet rads in most of the property so E10 tariff). Then I read more and they are quoting energy use in "kilowatts per hour", my old 'O' level physics teacher would have had me taken out and shot for doing that. Then I found you guys and realised I might end up spending a grand on a poshed up panel heater.

I'm off to find my longest bargepole. Many thanks.

Fake possitive reviews on a massive scale on Trustpilot regarding Fischer heaters. I wonder who is leaving them. Its all fake news on Trustpilot. Its a joke on the expense of old people who are the majority victims.

The main reason people choose Fischer because they keep a 21c temperature at all times when required like Central heating.
It's central heating without pipes , boilers and annual maintenance
I know which one people will go for, hence all the satisfied reviews on trust pilot.
My home is lovely and warm in the winter, that's all that mattered and it does not cost me more .
After conducting my own inquiries with various government agencies, they tell me gas central heating is the cheapest form of heating. They is no evidence that the positive reviews on trust pilot are genuine.
The cost of heating your home also matters. There is no evidence that people are actually saving. Perhaps fischer should invite its customers to leave reviews on their energy bills.

Ok so I am new to this forum, have read alot of comments, here. Which is now concerning me! So I have Fischer coming to quote this week, having read this forum I am now of a mind to cancel the visit.

I am in the process of looking to replace my current heating system which is blow air, having some issues with it so looking at other options.

I have been quoted for radiators throughout and then there flyer came through the door, so thought no harm in talking to them.

But I sense not all is right with this company.

I have read reviews on trust pilot and I have to say that where there is something this company doesn't like, they defend themselves regirously without acknowledging the customer issue.......yes this does not feel right!!!

Any thoughts would be welcome, do not want to waste my time really.

    Thanks in advance!

If you've only read a few of the posts you'll realise that Fischer and any other "magic" heater will use exactly the same amount of energy as a £20 heater from Argo or ALDI.

It's obviously up to you but they cost silly amounts of money to buy and the same to run as a cheap and cheerful one. IMO you will be wasting your time and you'll struggle to get rid of him

Ring and cancel IIWY. Unless you have very strong resolve, you'll order something to get the guy out of your house. You really don't want that. :)

Ignore opinion on paid for trust sites, see several on the ASA for example.

Blown air is a good reliable and very economic gas heating system and last I looked three years ago there were plenty of parts still available.

Its your choice and your invitation, you think after 4 hours of bombarded relentless speciality psychological sales pitch you are better than him and will avoid signing anything .. .. think again my friend the best way of avoiding the bullet is don't put yourself in his sights.

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) rules now allow you to cancel in the 'cooling off period' but your thousands of pounds deposit can legally be kept from you because of their claimed costs - sign and pay absolutely nothing at all.

    Best of luck to you.

  • Thanks all for the feedback.

    Appointment cancelled!

Most decent companies would have said 'is there any reason as to why you want the appointment cancelled?'

    Another sign of incompetence!

Thanks and have a wonderful day all and happy heating!:

By blow air do you mean Johnson and Starley warm air heating?

I had that and had it removed and replaced with a combi and radiators.

My gas usage plummeted by over 30% from 18-19000 kWh a year to just 12918 kWh in the past year.
