    1, he get a job

2, they move in with you or you loan them money

sorry it doesn't sound helpful but have they helped themselves?
glad to see he took this advice :T

it shows a great deal about him and his future with your daughter and grandaughter, when push cam to shove he got off his butt and got out there and found work. Yes I know all about being out of work but I've done the same as him before now when out of work. Started first thing and kept asking looking till I had a job, I needed the money!

    Good Luck:T
  • Escort, your daughter should still apply for a crisis loan despite her partner gaining employment. I presume he will have to work a week in hand before he gets paid? I have no ideas about applying for crisis loans but can see plenty of people have given you advice on them.

    Good luck to your daughter.

Is the whole benefit/no solid plan to provide an income for child for the next few years thing not a rut then?

And to those that think the rent can wait, you can be very certain I'll be one future landlord with a big fat 'no DSS' all over any adverts!

Well what you doing on a benefits forum if you clearly don't have to claim benefits??? Also she is in HOUSING ASSOCIATION not private rental.

Many people that advise on benefits are not claimants - are they not welcome here?

If they are interested in helping posters, off course but unfortunately, there seem to be a few people hell bent on abusing people on benefits and giving inappropriate information. i.e. give your house up etc. etc. The person who asks for help just needs their question answered (maybe with additional info needed) but not attacked for the situation they have ended up in.

Why not, being a TA is pretty limiting as far as careers go. To go any further it'll be 4 years off back at uni or yonks with the OU.

Besides which, now they can split child care and both work part time.

can actually do a degree with the Ou in 3 years if they really want too or 4.

Wow, I didn't realise that this was a selective board - silly me for thinking that everyone is welcome on an open forum!

This board is about benefit entitlement and not policy - people do not deserve to be abused just because they have ended up in an unfortunate situation and every part of their lives picked apart. As Martin himself has stated on the sticky at the top of this board.

You are supposed to let the forum team deal with 'offending' posts - it is not up to you to say who may or may not post. :p

That is true but there is the alert button for people who are just being judgemental and abusive. :)
