Those damn trolls! That's amazing news, see how quickly things can change when you put some real effort in! all the best for the new family!
No troll here. i can assure you.
The partner has been to every location in our area today, he started early and has just got home. If that isnt putting effort in to find work i dont know what is.
He fell lucky today. There are millions of people who cannot find work and its hard for them and there families.
I wish you a happy uncomplicated life Bodmil.0 -

I think it's because you said your daughter's partner had been trolling around the pubs.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -
Nonsense, I believe we all make our own luck in life and he obviously worked hard today.0

Thats the thing, its only luck. luck can dissapear at any time.
Sickness, long term illness, death, redundancy etc all change our luck and there is not a thing we can do about it.
I wish everyone a happy, healthy life.0 -
Everyone can prepare themselves for bad times.

All the best to your daughter & granddaughter x:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Oh !!!!!! the OP is not asking for advice on fututr plans! Is the whole benefit/no solid plan to provide an income for child for the next few years thing not a rut then?
And to those that think the rent can wait, you can be very certain I'll be one future landlord with a big fat 'no DSS' all over any adverts!
Just what to do while the benefits problem is sorted.
Get off your high horse!!!!!!!0 -
That's great news, good luck to both of them, they seem to have a good work ethic so will do good. It might be worth though to remind them of the importance of saving some funds for the case of the unexpected as they have just faced. Even if they are tight, there is always something that can go, or some adjustments that can be made to allow some money, however small to be put aside.0

Please help.
My daughters boyfriend moved into her house yesterday.
Today she had notified the housing association and also rang the benefits helpline and tax credits.
He doesnt work neither does she at the moment 4 year old child at home.
Any how
Benefits helpline immediately stopped her income support, said she wont get this again. OK
Tax credits stopped the claim and said need to put in a new claim jointly. OK
Housing benefit and council tax benefit stopped her claim. Has got the reclaim together OK
Now thats all fine, she is doing the right thing by being honest etc.
So now he has got to make a joint claim for JSA. this can take 4 weeks he was told today.
Taxcredits can take 8 weeks.
How is she ment to survive for this long without any money for food, gas or electric on prepayment meters.
Any help please would be appreciated.
hi hun
well done ur daughter for doing the right thing, she should be entitled to a crisis loan/budgeting loan that she can apply for a the the job center (i think) if thats not the right place they will be able to send her to the right department. tell her to phone and ask at ur local one, under no circumstances should she get one of these pay day loans ( wonga and such) as she will pay through the nose for it and should she miss the payment date will get hammered in charges. if all else fails church groups sometimes do food parcels to tide u over, she could always give some tins and bits to them when she is back on her feet. selling bits on ebay is always good or even a car boot if she has lots of stuff to go.
hope this helps x0
