Only just looking at this site - but wanted to chip in.

CCCS are great, and you really have nothing to worry about. Ive been with them for 11 years - yes 11.

To put things in perspective, i overspent when depressed. I was single in the forces and basically could spend everything I earned as rent/food etc was taken directly from my wages.

Well - i did just that - I had loans everywhere. I met my now wife, who also had a few debts and was living with her parents. Well we got married and found we had more going out than coming in. We added up our debts and it came to over £44,000. My wife was not earning, I was talking home just over £1400 after tax and our loans alone were £1300 - nothing for food, bills etc. it was a horrible place to be.

CCCS sorted it. our payments reduced to £450 initially then steadily reduced as we had a family. Were now, 11 years later only paying £100 per month and the debt is down to £18,000. When I finish in the Army it will by nearer £15,000 which we can clear with my pension lump sum.

I will have been in debt for around 24 years, struggling for 15 and in debt management for 13 BUT Ill finally be free.

Seriously, once CCCS have you the problems become so small - and ultimately you feel great.

When you get those dreaded calls (and horrible letters) just refer them to CCCS - give them the phone number and put the phone down. Be blunt - just say "CCCS are now dealing with this, you can contact them on xxxxxx, and this is my client reference xxxx" thats it - phone down. Any letters, just dont even read them. Forward them to CCCS, then EMail them and let them know who it was from and that its on its way to them.

Heres hoping you have a good outcome :) and again, if you need to chat with someone whos had a LONG road with BIG debts - and with a family, Ill be happy to.
  • thanx you Paul

Didnt want you to think I was not about. Reading but nothing more to add. your getting the best advice.
Keep your chin up, and face each letter as it arrives, and you will soon find it easy to do.
