im just waiting for housing benefit to reassess my claim and as soon as that's done i will know exactly what income i have coming in to start making plans
i was just scared that if i went to CCCS for help and my creditors saw my income and expeniture, this company might not have just accepted a change in circumstances as a reason when they saw how my income was made up and might have investigated further
i guess that just the mess my head is in right now
It just shows that deep down you are an honest person and you feel that you have done something that was less then honest. But it is the company who should have checked your information too. Dont worry. Look to the changes ahead as a new challenge.
Relax about it, but dont over look it or forget it.
The worst they can do is harrass you. But if you have the Debt councillors dealing with things with you, then they can write to them on your behalf.
Everyone has changes in thier income, and its a risk these companies must take.
I must go now for the evening, I need to put the granddaughter to bed. its just her and me these days.
Sleep better, and know that you can make steps now to change it.

Hi Scared
Just wanted to say what everyone else is advising you to do is good advice. If you do contact CCCS or the CAB or any other none-fee paying charity who will help organise a repayment scheme , they will base it on your total income anyway and as of the date you contact them, not at the time you applied for the loan. You dont have to give the loan company any more evidence of your income if you dont want to, and can ask them to only contact you via the organisation concerned.
A Debt Management plan or similar is not easy, it may lead to you not being able to get credit for a while which is scary when you have got used to using credit. The people you owe money to will make veiled threats and may even issue CCJs against you but you will be able to deal with this through the likes of CCCS and its highly unlikely any action will be taken against you for fraud, but you will have to sort out the debt over time.
I owed £13500 at the worst of my debt crisis, down to £3000 now and its soo much more bearable now. Debt can be repaid, and its certainly not worth getting suicidal over (trust me). If things do get you down to that extent please see your GP and dont be afraid of asking for help and support because right now you need to get it sorted, so you never feel this bad again. Big Hug xx0 -
pebbles trust me i never want to see credit again!!
i feel so useless that ive let things get this far but im determined to make it better, pay back every penny i owe and give me and my son a half decent life
i think things just got on top of me and i acted in panic. i know its no excuse but its coming up to the anniversary of my mums death and i havent handled losing her very well either.
thank you so much for being so nice i reallly appreciate it and even though youre all the other side of a screen your words do help xx0 -
extremely doubtful that your error would get you into trouble. They asked for your income & you gave it, the tax credits & maintenenance ARE income.
Dont beat yourself up over it, a lot of us have done similar things.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -

Defo call CCCS when me and my wife had our first child and we went down to one wage we struggled with our debts, we unfortunatly used a fee paying company at first to aid us on our dmp. But once we saw the light that most banks/cards prefer to deal with the likes of CCCS or CAB and a few other free debt companies we utilized CCCS and took the advice from this site. Best thing we did really was to contact CCCS they helped us through the process of going through our income / outgoing and what we could afford to give to each creditor. Once you have them, you can speak to them either for further advice regarding lastest letters from creditors or just to check most recent statements it really does feel like a weight is off your shoulders. And to show you there is light at the end of the tunnel our debt was £24000 and less than 6 years later it is all paid back and we will hopefully never be in a situation like that again. All was only possible with help and I cannot rate CCCS highly and thank them highly enougth. Remember there is genuine help for you out there and people on here will advise and help as much as possible through out.
And as a final note income does include your benefits and maintenance some companies don't specify some do, but at the end of the day its all income so you haven't lied so nothing to worry about. Take the advice on here and good luck, you have done the hard bit of asking for help on here just move on to next stage and CALL CCCS or another fee free debt advice company ASAP to help alivate worries'If you ain't living life on the edge you are taking up too much room'

morning all
well i feel a little bit calmer today and even managed to get some sleep last night
i know what needs to be done and realise i have to face it so over the next couple of weeks when i know exactly what my income is going to be i will set the wheels in motion
i understand its going to be a rough ride at first and hope you will all be there with me every step of the way cause im going to need it, especially when the letters and phone calls start (the thought of the phone calls are scaring me rigid)
thank you all for the support so far, i was a real mess last night but hopefully there will be a light at the end of my lonely dark tunnel
