It is SUCH a weight off once you have CCCS/Payplan dealing with your creditors.

It is surprising how much easier it is to sleep at night!
  • i hope so Westminster because im still feeling very fragile as to the hassle im going to get from my creditors but even my GP said i have done the right thing by contacting them x

Once CCCS agree a plan with them and they receive regular payments they won't hassle you I shouldn't think

You can do exactly that. I had creditors calling for a while after starting with Payplan. But the best way to stop is write those letters and don't ignore the calls (you have to just tell them to take it up with CCCS and end the call - don't get drawn into conversation with them as I suspect the people who call are on targets/commission to get payments out of you)

Things are definitely going to get better for you!

Hello Scared, Just read your thread before I go to bed. I should be fast asleep by now, I need my beauty sleep, lol.
Just wanted to wish you well in your debt free journey.
I also suffer from depression and lost my mum two years ago to leukaemia, so I know how you feel. It's hard when you are depressed, struggling with the loss of your beloved mum and finances too. It takes a strong person to get through it and I'm sure you will do.
I keep saying that to myself, and somedays are very hard and I don't want to get out of bed, but then I think of how my mum would be disappointed in me if I just lay there and cried all day . I put a photo of her next to my bed and every night, I have a private conversation with her about my worries, somehow I feel better after doing that and I am sure she is listening and taking some of the worry off me.
I do have days when I cry as I miss her like mad, but as she would say "Life has to carry on " and she would have wanted that for you too.

If you need to chat, please private message me and I will be a listening ear for you and a shoulder to cry on if need be.

    Love Binnie xx

Well done for doing that. Thats the biggest steps over with at the moment.
If you get any phone calls, just tell them that it's all in the hands of CCS and that you can't discuss it any further.
I've heard they do ring several times, but like others have said, say that and how you will report them for hassling and upsetting you. Also to write to them if they get too annoying.
Hope things go ok for you and I'm sure everything will be fine.

I rang my bank today as I wanted to not pay the mortgage for a month and to add it on at the end. We only have 3-4 years left on our mortgages and plenty of equity so I thought they would help.
The money management wouldn't help us, so we have made an appointment for tuesday to see a mortgage advisor.
If that fails, then we might be going to the CCS too.

    xxxx
  • thanks both of you

i guess im hoping the phone doesnt ring too often cause i really dont feel strong enough for that right now but i knew i couldnt go on as i was any longer either so needs must and all that

all i want to do is sleep and wake up in 3 months time when everything is set up and running smoothly but i will ride the storm and keep posting here so i dont feel so alone in all this

    xxx
