I'd never thought of £10 per day being £300 per month.
I have a reduced budget for the forseeable future so will be adopting your strategy. I have £150 for my personal spending (not including food) for the next month. So I give myself a £5 a day allowance and if I need to spend a larger amount then I have to have NSDs and carry the money forward.
So simple when you think about it. Thanks Londongirl for the mini LB moment. (That beer come from the fridge and not from my daily allowance btw).

Happy weekend mate! Sorry been AWOL, been in Dublin for a couple of days for work (NSD's as company pays for food while I'm away
) and for some odd reason I'm not getting emailed about your thread any more. Hmmm.
Anyway, still here. Congrats on payday. I know the feeling well, doesn't mean you can run out and spend but you still feel good about seeing a bit of progress.December 2005 TOTAL DEBT at its worst - [STRIKE]£20,596[/STRIKE]

Evening all,
Good day today - NSD number 9 for November! Just one more to hit target by Weds! Went out for lunch with boss and colleague and C paid as boss paid last time, just means next time its my turn, but it might have to be somewhere less expensive! Then was invited to an engagement party of two guys at work and had a lovely time, they put on lots of food and drink which was really sweet of them, v pleased with their good news! So managed to have a nice sociable day but with no spendys!
One day next week might be unpleasant at work due to a decision we had to make today but I'll report on that once it has happened.
Tomorrow am I am riding then I have a trip to the supermarket planned. I was a member of a car club in London which merged with another car club. During the merger they gave me £10 driving credit to be used by 2nd Dec, so I am using that tomorrow to have a car for an hour and a half to take to the supermarket and going to do my xmas shop of chocs, wine, cards, wrapping etc etc have a budget of £20 to get as much as I can out of that lot. I'm also taking a budget of £30 for the groceries - ingredients for Sunday lunch and going to stock up on non-fresh bulk buys to save money in long run, rice, pasta, orange squash etc taking advantage of having the car so I don't have to haul it all on the bus!
Membership for car club was paid for ages ago and I'm going to opt out of re-newing next summer.
I had been worrying about what to wear to the work xmas party which is black tie but I remembered a dress Ive had in my wardrobe for ages, i need to try it on though as I have filled out a bit since I bought it! If it fits I'll just need to get a shrug or something to cover my shoulders which would be cheaper than new dress.
Will be in over the weekend im sure but hope you all have a nice oneSantander 0% £1,529.94

Odd but no dramas!! How was Dublin?
Thanks, yeah it's better than it used to be as I know I won't run out of money a week in anymore and rely on credit.

Was just about to send the MSE search party out for you...
Glad you had a good time out..
I personally budget the following (bare in mind I have no/minimal transport costs and rent is paid)
£30-40 for groceries/misc
£30 -e-cig and sos savings
Rest bills
which means out of my £800 every 4 weeks I have £400 to throw at debt..
it's a tight budget but is working for me so far. Sometimes I try and earn the odd tenner here and there and I find that helps for holidays/tight budget weeks.
BTW when I do go for a break the budget is £60-100 that week depending... which is spreadsheeted and calculated before hand and I always try and get my long distance travel @ the best price :T
Only thing that eeks the budget so far is the mobile @ £32 a month. (maybe a little more) but I use all my contract - it should really be £15...
That's what the illness gets you - an expensive android you're paying off for 2 years
Hope that helps folk with their LBM's...Nope I don't have lunches out...Can't afford them. A £1 sandwich is a luxury item...

Hi all,
Busy day today! Had a lovely ride first thing on Zetland, my number one most favourite horse ever! Chilled out at the yard which unfortunately caused a spend as a lost a bet and was driven to the golden arches to buy everyone breakfast! DOH That was £17 NOT WELL SPENT! However it has come from money saved up in NSD's so it just means a social night will have to be cheaper than planned.
Then picked up the car and went to the great big Tesco nearby, did well and the ingredients for tomorrow came in near enough on budget but I did spend £10 extra on the xmas side as there were some good deals to be had. So need to do some sums and work out if the xmas budget can be tightened to make up for it.
Then, in clearing out the fridge - one of my flatmates is TERRIBLE for leaving rotten veg or out of date condiments in the fridge, its disgusting - I threw away some of my other flatmates philadelphia, so just had to go and replace that. But it was on BOGOF so I got one for me too!
Tomorrow should be a NSD as I have everything ready to go for lunch. So I will try and drag my bum up for a run first thing then can spend the day cooking and entertaining!
I am staying in tonight so there is no more chance of spending money!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Alas I didn't get any study done today ...
Think I will just have to bite the bullet and book my test end of next week and that will make me study :j Cos no way am I going to pay £15 for a resit :money: (could have gone up by now for all I know )
Anyhow just pottered about at home shifting furniture again LOL....this time i shifted the bookcases to where I want them and the chair and polished the chair with balsam - then my friend who's a smoker (and I can't really deny her cigs in my house as she has MH probs) came and sat on it so now it stinks of cigs
But the balsam (something like £1.7O) smelt lovely :t...will have to do again...:D
Only downside is when I took the throw off it I discovered a scratch on it....don't know how that got there ..sure it wasn't there a week ago
So window open and I just phoned a helpline re some trouble I'm having at bedtime and we agreed a new digital radio was in order (cos mine is pants..doesn't even get classic fm anymore it's that old- cos £5 from the charity shop though a few years ago so can't complain) to help with that.. Depending on where you get them from they can be quite reasonable......:)...So no Lil Mama tank on Tuesday...a radio instead
Och well...so long as the loan gets paid enough why worry
