Exactly, I just want to make sure it's fair for us both so his capital is protected but my monthly payments are also protected! There isn't a simple way to do this apparently, she explained that joint tenants just means on the land registry you each own the property equally and if one of us dies the other retains full ownership. Tenants in common requires us to state now what % we each own.

She said we could do a declaration of trust and draw up what we want to do but for something like ours this costs over £400.

I spoke to M about it and we have gone for joint tenants then we'll draw up an agreement between ourselves that clearly states what needs to happen if we sell due to break up etc.

No further news on this today, waiting for TSB to come back with mortgage offer!

I don't know if I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago I had to have a small operation, following this I was told to avoid strenuous exercise for 2 weeks, well 2 weeks is up today and I'm full of beans! This morning I walked part of my commute (5km) and tonight I have a workout plan I downloaded to follow which I'll warm up for by running 1 mile before hand.

I have joined the bug miles forum too so I can log my miles with them and hopefully stay motivated to clock up the miles!

Hoping my previous foot and shin injuries are now recovered enough for me to not be in pain!

NSD so far today and have food at home for this evenings meals

    Morning all,

Very pleased with myself I did my mile run followed by day 1 of the Fit Girl challenged and day 1 of a 30 day abs challenge. I WILL be happy to wear a bikini in USA!

Dinner was already prepped last night night so no £ spent, lunch today is leftovers from last night.

I was thinking of heading to Windsor tonight to have an evening with M, he said I didn't need to worry about rushing around and getting trains but I kinda wanted to hang out with him rather than sitting in the flat getting annoyed at how lazy my flatmates are with keeping it clean. If I don't go I might stick my trainers on and head up to the heath for a walk - free and healthy. win. Also, if I don't go I will have time to cook a healthy dinner that can double up as lunch for the rest of the week.

Not much else to report really, still waiting on TSB to finish underwriting us, value the property and issue the offer... fingers crossed! I still have a worry they'll take one look at our bank statements and file the application under "No way, not in a blue moon"

    Morning all,

Another mile ran this morning followed by days 3 on my exercise challenges with a couple of extra push ups for good measure! My legs can really feel the work I did yesterday!

Last night I cooked some spicy been and wrapped it up in a wholemeal wrap with some veggies and beans, was lush. I made a big vat of the beef and froze it into 7 extra portions so that will make for lunch today and tomorrow with some brown rice and salad. The rest is frozen so will use some over the weekend and the rest next week.

M and I face-timed last night since I didn't go to Windsor, I find that so odd to use, I find myself looking at the box with me in rather than him most of the time checking the camera is at the right angle to hide my double chin! LOL

When I spoke to the mortgage advisor yesterday he said TSB will finish underwriting by COB today and if all is OK they'll instruct valuation tomorrow so I will give him a call first thing tomorrow and find out the status, fingers crossed! SO nervous!

I have two birthday presents I need to buy by the end of the week, one I will get a spa voucher for the other I am struggling with. She is massively into fitness and the gym but has a fancy gym membership and more gym clothes than you can shake a stick at! Hmm need to think!

We originally had a really busy weekend coming up but 2 out of 3 plans have bailed so we get to be much more MSE and eat at home apart from Saturday night where we have a birthday pub dinner but I have £60 budgeted for this which will be more than enough! Either M or I will drive I think so hopefully we can just pay for soft drinks for one of us. We're looking forward to celebrating with the birthday girl but one of her friends is going who has a habit of being blunt to the point of rude, she's wound me up a few times so when she's going to events I tend to look forward to it a little less but hopefully I can tactfully sit at the other end of the table!

Hi, just popping by, I read and cheer you on from the sidelines a lot but rarely have time to comment these days. Could you get her something like one of those Bobble water bottles - saves a fortune on mineral water and is safe for re-use many many times. They come in lovely colours and lots of different shapes and sizes. Or on the fitness thing, could you get her voucher for a juice bar - I know Boost do them, perhaps wrapped up with a set of fancy straws (TKMaxx) and some beautiful fruit.

Just look her in the face and say how happy you are with your new job, your new man and how everything is going so well for you at the moment - don't leave a single chink in you armour of self contentment or leave a single opportunity for her to go dark on you - that should pi$$ her off big time
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

Had a couple of updates re the house today...

I chased the mortgage broker and he spoke to TSB they have pretty much finished underwriting us and had a quick question regarding a big deposit into my partners bank statement (when he vested shares to fund the deposit) so the MB think they'll be happy with that now and instruct the valuation. fingers crossed

The solicitor has instructed searches and will raise enquiries she said that's about as much as we can do until we have our mortgage offer and she has updated the estate agents on this so hopefully next week we will have a bit more progression.

Yesterday M got told he now has to work a 24 hour shift from sat morning to Sunday morning so that has blown apart our weekend plans. We don't get to see each other tonight now, so I will have a quick drink after work with the girls before heading home for dinner. Then tomorrow I'll have some time to myself before driving out of London and back for a friends birthday meal. Then hopefully we'll have some time together on Sunday.

Should be a reasonably cheap weekend, I've budgeted more than enough for the meal and since I'm on my own I won't have to buy extra food in.

    Hey guys,

A very frustrating weekend in the end, started off well. I had some fun drinks on Friday night (don't even want to THINK about the calories), Saturday morning I had a lovely 7mile walk around Hampstead Heath then headed out for dinner in the evening.

Dinner was, OK, annoyingly I was sat next to the rude girl, she was quite well behaved compared to normal but I think I was still reeling slightly from when I last saw her that I just found her irritating, so it was fine. I drove back to camp after work and met M, we parked my car outside the block where his room is and headed to bed.

On Sunday we decided to head out and start pricing up and deciding what kind of beds/sofas we want. Got up, headed to the car and as M got in I just heard him swear and say "what's happened to your car?!" I thought he was joking until I saw his face. Raced around to the passenger side and sure enough on the passenger back door I have an enormous dent, it runs the entire length of the door and is about a foot wide. Obviously no note on my car as an explanation.

The paintwork is immaculate on it and it really does look like someone's kicked the !!!! out of it. We drove it around to the guard room to report it and ask re CCTV. Sure enough, no CCTV in that area.

The lads on guard report it to higher ranks and we're told to report to the military police. So Sunday morning was spent with them giving statements so I can get a crime ref number.

It's unlikely we'll ever find out who did it, probably some lad coming in from a night out, unfortunately there are some unsavoury characters but they've never had anything like this happen before.

M's boss knows about it and I know him reasonably well from when I used to ride the horses so he'll probably look into it but I don't really know what he can do.

Dad reckons it's about £500 worth of damage and my insurance has £500 excess so it looks like I need to magic some money out of somewhere since all my spare cash paid off my credit card bill this month.

I'm just so angry and frustrated, this is the last thing I need right now, we need every penny for the house move and I'd done so well with YNAB to get my finances straight that this has just put a huge dent in it (ha ironic). ARGH.

SO last night we weren't in the mood for cooking so we bought pizzas and wine and played cluedo. I need to call round and get some quotes to see where to take it to to get it fixed.

No new news on the house really.

Hope you all had better weekends than me
