Oh no! Hope you're OK after your fall! Make sure you take it easy!

Well I've spent the last couple of days sending documents to the mortgage brokers and now they have everything they need so just waiting to receive the official mortgage offer.

I'm really mad today, both my flat mates have gone on holiday, left the bathroom in a mess (including their facial hair around the sink after shaving) and a pile of washing up in the kitchen, assuming our cleaner will deal with it today. Well she's only just text to say she's not coming so now I have to deal with their mess yet again!!!

Seriously SO ready to move out, can't wait until I can count down the days!

Hi exciting new about the property!! I hope it all goes really smoothly. I so so understand about the people you are sharing with - SO rude and unthoughtful. I wish they would not act like that but hey youve not got long left I hope! x

    Hi all,

Hope all is well in the land of MSE!

Weekend was nice, did very little and spend very little which was even better!

As part of the mortgage application they asked if my credit card balance (£550) would be paid off by the time the mortgage was issued and I said yes it would be without really thinking that could be in the next few weeks! Oops, well its kind of done me a favour really, as I went into YNAB and I have built up quite a buffer in there which is allocated against annual bills, obviously all those bills will still need to be paid but I worked out I am able to nick some of that buffer this month to pay of the credit card in one lump and replace it next month. So in the next few days that card will be paid and closed.

I got ANOTHER fine through the post this week, completely unexpected. It was a fine for not paying congestion charge, at first I thought it must be a mistake as I never drive in the congestion zone but sure enough the picture of my car was there. turns out last Friday when I drove out of London to view flats and I had to go a very slightly different way due to a closed road I just hopped inside for a few minutes. That's another £65 down the loo. Not happy!!!

House stuff seems to be progressing OK, not had too much progress since the end of last week, we are just waiting for the mortgage offer to come through now, fingers crossed! I have also emailed the estate agent to find out if we are in much of a chain, I know the couple we are buying from are also purchasing a new house but not sure after that.

Today I'm going to make a list of everything we will need to source for the flat furniture and furnishings wise, we are very lucky in that my parents are giving us £3k and M's Granny is giving us £5k to start us off which is very kind!

Next month we are off to the USA, we are spending 6 nights with M's Dad who lives in Connecticut and 3 nights in New York City, can't wait. By next month I will have £650 saved up for spending money but hoping to come back with a lot of that!

After that I then need to pay back M for the flights and hotel with is about £800 in total and then I can FINALLY get saving properly. It will take us a while once we're in the new house to get used to how much money we spend in different living circumstances and with new bills etc (my travel card is £200 more a month) but I'd like to think I can squirrel away a few hundred a month.

I am VERY much looking forward to us living together, right now we mostly only see each other at weekends but he was away with the army from last Saturday to this Sunday so that took away almost two weekends and now we have found out he is away again this weekend so I won't see him at all now until the weekend after. At least when we see each other midweek it won't seem quite so bad when he's called away over a weekend!

I think that's about it from me for now.

So true, I won't jinx it yet but if it all goes through OK I'll whack it on my signature like yours. Once we've lived there 6 months or so we should have a good idea of bills and be able to work out what we can squirrel away to over pay. We've gone for a 30year mortgage to improve our affordability.... longest.debt.ever.

AND at the click of a button, credit card paid off! WOOP Very happy. When that payment clears tomorrow I have a reminder in my diary to call up Tesco and cancel, paid off with 4 months of the interest free period left too, go me!

Struggling with YNAB today, tried to set up the cloud sync but it won't work so I've emailed their techy team to try and fix me!

Out for dinner tonight for a friends birthday (budgeted) not falling for the mistake of not drinking again, I'll order what I want so when we split the bill I'm getting my fair share! ha!
