House buying? Hubby? Mortgage? Does that make you officially grown up LG? The hand is a curse word :P...I haven't been resting it! Else it would be healed by now :P
Nuff said...
re bikini bod
Swap bodies perhaps? I need to gain weight LOL. Stress causes me not to eat LOL. So I need to get back to my healthy snacks and a wee bit of cheese
I had a haagen daz this week though (500ml tub) so that has helped
New ratties are good. New cage (not the £120 one - a £65 one) comes tomorrow

Oh gawd I suppose it must do! Though I will counter act all that when BF and I go to see the minion film this weekend, can't wait!!!
Pleeease rest your hand!!
Haha poor you I know it can be just as hard to gain weight as it is to lose it, you will get there go and enjoy your favourite foods!
Glad ratties are settling in well
I'm feeling quite unwell today, I'm going to say 50% hangover 50% tummy doesn't agree with the food it was fed last night! Really fun night though with some great friends. I paid for my friends dinner, he ALWAYS pays when he and I go out and last week he paid to come and pick me up from the hospital in a taxi and take me home! I think he appreciated it as he is so generous people are used to letting him pay.
I had a call from the mortgage broker last night, he was saying we need to sort our life insurance as mortgage protection. Now, because Matt is in the army it isn't the cheapest around but he said Aviva offer really fair rates for armed forces personnel but I really know nothing about this to compare our quote.
He has quote £100pm for us both. This is life and critical illness cover and pays out the lump sum of the mortgage upon death or critical illness. It is guaranteed premiums. It also offers partial payments for some illness that isn't critical.
Tried to compare online but it's hard as they don't take into account your occupation, so at lunchtime I am going to call around a couple of other insurers and compare what they offer.
It seems a lot but if we need it then we'll of course do it but just want to make sure we get the right product at the right price.
So that's todays task!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Just a thought my life insurance worked out cheaper when done individually and do you really need the critical illness cover?
Have you read this? good for general advice and there is a specific question about critical illness cover

An alternative to YNAB is cap money - you need to find a church that does it but it's thorough and good- the link for the basic web page is - https://www.capmoney.org - CAP do all sorts of stuff - not just DMPs ... and once you've been on a course you can access your budget online at any time
and tweak it as you need it
Rattiess settling in well to new cage. It's HUGE!!!

Thanks G
I know life has changed a lot for me in the last few years I have learnt a lot of lessons and had a lot of help and support from you guys here. I hope I can keep this up with the new household budget and one day pass on my budgeting prowress to mini LG's!
Weekend was lovely, we spent more than we planned but M and I had a lovely date day, it has been too long since he and I had a day to ourselves to enjoy each others company without worrying about househunting or other things so it was well worth it! We saw the new minions movie followed by a trip to my fave restaurant... its menu is hotdogs and champagne... SO good! Food dirt cheap, drinks not quite so cheap!
Yesterday v quiet and relaxed, I made lunches for the week using up bits from the freezer and just adding some rice and veg. so very MSE.
House update - spoke to the estate agent this morning, he's asking if we are able to hurry along the bank to do the mortgage valuation then we could tie it all up pretty quickly as all the rest of the houses are ready to go in the chain. So I've sent the request to the mortgage guy and will see what he says.
We have sent the solicitor docs back today, in this we needed to stipulate if we are joint tenants or tenants in common. Ie 50:50 owners or state an ownership %. Well for us this is quite hard, as M is putting in all the money upfront and I am paying a much bigger chunk of the mortgage so each month the % I have contributed increases with the aim that over time it evens out. So I have asked her if we can be joint tenants (so that if one of us dies the ownership transfers to remaining party) but have a paragraph to say if we sell house due to relationship break up then we each get the % of the sale price that represents the amount contributed.
Need to have a few no spend days now to make up for weekend over spend!

Hi very sensible with the house proceeds and being up front about what I hope won't happen but might. Its not an easy conversation especially because its a special time but its worth it in the long run xx
