Well done for managing to have such a cheap but good night! I remember when I was in my teens and going out thurs-sun in Wales, I would go out with a mate and spend less than a tenner most nights by going for cheap drinks and making them last! I always had a fab night!
Now that I live in London and I'm married I rarely go out but can't seem to spend less than £100 when I do. It doesn't help that a lot of bars only serve doubles or give you a glass full of ice (ha I tried asking for my drink without ice once and they refused saying that was the way they come!)0 -
Hey FB!
Thanks, yeah I know what you mean when I was younger in Derby I could go out endlessly! I know now I just need to be more careful, not taking cards helped. I used to kid myself and say it was in case of emergency but I just wasted so much! As long as I keep £20 aside for a cab home then I shouldnt have problems and no need for cards.
Just had a successful trip to supermarket, Im going to have enough spanish chicken stew to feed five thousand and all for less than £13Santander 0% £1,529.94

Glad you had a fab time OP. I havent been out properly for ages as I have been too skint (and not asked out on a date either..boo hoo).
Saving money is great, I am really getting into it again. Yesterday I rummaged around in the fridge and found 2 old wrinkly but not mouldy tomatoes, 2 carrots, an onion so all these were peeled and chopped (didnt bother peeling the tomatoes) and slung in my slow cooker with some black pepper, italian seasoning, a splash of worcester sauce, a squidge of tomato puree, some beef stock and a handful of pearl barley. It seemed rather thin and then I remembered that I have a Braun Hand Held Mixer (bought yonks ago but never used) - it has a pulverising blade on it so my soup was chopped up/blended and it was served with whoopsie shelf bread rolls. I have 3 portions in the freezer too. Today, is lamb shank done in the slow cooker (I only just managed to wedge it in it was that bloomin big:rotfl:).
Good luck with your stew.0 -
Boo! When I did finally get asked out on a date he fell asleep and in the end it didn't happen! MEN!
Ah nice one, I love it when you find a meal out of nothing!!
Stew turned out much better than expected! It reproduced in the slow cooker and I now have about 13 portions!!! Our poor freezer is over flowing! Tonight I made it with risotto and it was yum! My flatmates were impressed! So now I have a choice of spag bol or spanish chicken stew!
I did have to pop to mini supermarket as I needed some extra tinned tomatoes. The nice brand were half price when you bought 4 so I got those and the orange squash I drink was on offer so I just picked that up too. It did mean I spent a fiver from tomorrow's budget but I'm not planning on spending tomorrow so all good!
Now for an evening of Downton and X Factor - loving Sunday's at the moment!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Hey,
Good to hear from you. No dramas, good weekend? My friend is much the same, I'm not sure why he wasn't woken up Im waiting to hear from one of the guys. They do think he will have considerable brain damage but that's all I know. Until he wakes up I'm not sure we will know much at all
You might be able to help actually. Having had my head in the sand all the years I never noticed a monthly payment for "Repayment cover" on my credit card statement. I know I didnt take anything out when I opened the card so I just rang the bank and he said its payment protection and cancelled it for me. Do you reckon I can now claim this back like you or was yours different?
Just a bit miffed as it means a good chunk of the extra cash I paid off this month has gone straight back into their back pockets
Even more motivation to get all this sorted now.Santander 0% £1,529.94

Sounds like a case of missold PPI to me. I'd definitely launch a claim - only costs a stamp. The basis of your complaint would be that you didn't know you had it and its not the sort of thing you ever would have knowingly signed up for.

Just bashed out another 2 exam questions in my lunch break, scoring OK... need to brush up on a fair bit of theory.
Going for a quick drink tonight after work with a colleague, it's my turn to buy as he did last time but we just have the same bottle which is £15 so I'll take tomorrows £10 in advance and add it to the £5 I have left from today. I have no reason to spend tomorrow so should be OKSantander 0% £1,529.94
