hi LG! fingers crossed it is good news on sat :(

re ebay postage i use carrier bags for posting clothes as they are free (and dont really weigh any thing so dont increase postage!). i normally put the item in a normal bag to protect eg tesco, boots etc... and then i get a decent bag which is stronger eg M&S, dorothy perkins etc... and i cut the handles off and slit open and wrap like a present using sellotape. totally free packaging which is waterproof and rip proof! also, if you dont have any strong bags then you can justify foing shopping to get new bags! (only joking ;) ) i save all my padded envelopes and also any plastic bag type envelopes to reuse as well :)

  • Evening all,

I'm home nice and early because people were fed up of my fluey noises in the office! Hope I feel better tomorrow, we have a welcome lunch for a girl that joined our team this week. She seems like a really good laugh and a good addition to our gang

I fought my symptoms all day then finally relented and went to boots at lunch, however as I paid with my points so its still a NSD day for me! Going to spend tonight hugging lemsip!

  • Morning gang,

Still feeling massivley rough. Would have stayed at home but we have a team lunch today to welcome our new member, I spent £5 today to top up my work canteen allowance but that will see me through the rest of the week now. I will get better at having breakfast at home!

Just checked my banking and all my ebay and amazon money has come through now in total this month I have upped my income by £136.25!! :) Well chuffed with that! Will need to put a lot of effort in next month to do the same. Normally after a few days or a week I get fed up of being good with money and go and blow a chunk of my credit card on clothes or something but after a few weeks now of this diary and your support and budgeting properly im still relishing the challenge and I think I have truly broken the habit. I have £50 in the pot for this weekend plus whatever else I dont spend this week so I'm going to celebrate the new me and wake up sunday feeling good for having saved up for it and not put it on my c card!

    Have a good day all....

Team lunch will be paid for by work and dinner is already in the cupboards so I will have £5 to add to my pot today.

  • Didn't spend anything else today so a fiver went back into the pot for the weekend.

I did some revision tonight and made some colourful notes to pin up on my wall - I don't seem to have a favoured way of revising the essay style exam papers. Give me a set of accounts to bash out or analyse and I'm all over it. But this exam is essay style writing about management styles, business strategy and project management and a bunch of "clever" theorists who all stated the obvious. I've failed this exam twice now - once down to having tonsillitis and I shouldn't have even gone to the exam and once because I sat it the same time as a financial one and as I favour financials I concentrated too much on that one and nowhere near enough on this one. I was only 4 marks off so hopefully with a bit more effort this time I will get there. Once this one is done I have 3 to sit in May then just a case study to become chartered so hopefully next year I'll be done with a bit of luck (and blood, sweat and tears!)

  • Good Morning,

Friday is here again, where on earth does the time go?

Plan for the weekend is to go horse-riding first thing tomorrow, then go out with the boys at night. I did warn them I hadn't been well so have the perfect excuse to disapear if I run out of cash! I'm going to slip £20 in the pocket of my bag in case I have to get a cab home but I'm going to try and be home early enough to get the tube! That leaves me with £35 to drink, if it doesnt last I'll just switch to lemonade!

I have been asked out on a date tomorrow lunch so that could require a bit of spending which is putting me off a bit, I havent decided weather to go or not yet. He seems a nice guy I've known him for a little while, smoking hot but I'm a little weary!

Going to try and have a NSD day today so I have an extra tenner for the weekend!

Fingers crossed my friend wakes up tomorrow and is as OK as he can be...

    Have a good day all

    Hope you feel better soon.

It is a free listing weekend on Ebay again this weekend, thought I would let you know:D
  • Thanks for that Horace, I'll get sorting my cupboards out to list tomorrow!

Nice ride this morning, still no change in our friend :(

Just watched the rugby, real shame the semi was ruined by a bad refereeing decision and I do think Wales would have done it.... but thats the way it goes.

Time for a shower then off to meet a guy for a few drinks then out with the boys later, staying within budget.

    Have a good one all....

  • Morning Gang!

I am a v.happy LondonGirl this morning! Had a TOP night last night and even came back with a tenner in my purse! The old me would have gone out last night and definitley spent over a hundred quid, most of it on the c card. Last night I had £65 in my purse, kept £20 of it in a side pocket for a cab home and drank the rest, when i got close to running out I just said to the lads Id switch to lemonade and buy my own but they wouldn't hear of it. It turned out the place we ended up wasnt that expensive anyway so I wasn't that behind on the rounds but the boys were gents! lol my taxi only cost a tenner so I had £10 to put back in my pot!

Woke up very happy knowing I had a great night and spent well. It can be done, now I feel even more confident that this is the new me. How stupid of me to have abused the cards before.

Currently sat watching NZ vs Aus and quite pleased it looks like NZ will meet France in the final, my flat mates lovely mrs is making us all blueberry pancakes - I approve massivley of his lovely lady!! haha

Once rugger is over I'm going to walk down to the supermarket and get some ingredients to make a spanish chicken stew - batch cooked of course! The ingredients are simple so should be cheap to buy a load and freeze loads... and i have enough nectar points I think to not have to spend any money at all!
