Writing this slightly squiffy!
Went to view the house today and it was lovely, its a full house over 3 floors, the kitchen and lounge were v nice and there was a garden which they're made habitable! The room was v big and had tonnes of storage space. But at £740pm not inc bills compared to my current £580pm I decided I can't justify it so emailed back to let them know that.
I then had a nice afternoon, me and my flatmate S went and sat in the local beer garden for a couple of hours over a bottle of wine and chatted rubbish, then came home and opened a second bottle over dinner and football with my flatmate P and his gf so its been a good day. They were both really nice earlier and helped me hoover under my bed and flip my mattress and assured me there were no more 8 legged fiends under there so I can sleep soundly!
The flat I was supposed to view tomorrow just text to let me know the room is gone so the only one left is the first one where I need to meet the other 2 flatmates but i haven't heard from her, its OK as I want to find the right place and not rush.
I have just had some v.sad news, one of the horses I ride had to be put down last night, he got colic and couldn't recover, its so sad as yesterday he was on parade in all his glory and now he's gonehe was such a gentleman to ride although a reasonably young horse nothing phased him and he didn't spook, bolt and never played up so we are all gutted. Going there tomorrow and it will be sad to see the empty stable.
This week... will be about preparing for half year end at work and on Friday it is my friends birthday party. It was supposed to be at her house but she moved it to the pub to save herself £££ and the cleanup operation which I can understand, I have put aside £20 for the evening, so planning to not drink and spend that on the taxi home as it's not the most straightforward journey so would rather not drink and get home easily. But sometimes I can stay at hers so I might be able to save that! I already have her present so thats no more £ to spend.
This week I'm going to plan hard for next month £££ wise, I don't want to make mistakes I made this month, want to stay in budget and pay off as much as possible.
I also managed to clear out 2 bin bags of clothes this weeked so have freed up some space in the wardrobe. Next to be attacked are the bookshelves and desk. I'd like to get rid of the desk completely actually as I don't really need it anymore...Santander 0% £1,529.94

Hi LG
I'm so sorry to hear the news about the horse, I guess it must feel like loosing a pet. Hope it wasn't too bad going there today {{Hugs}}.
I used to love moving, I am getting excited for you and your flat hunt and love the updates (sad or what haha). It is always a good time for a clear out as well. Is that e-bay calling you??
I did spend quite a bit of time moving around but we are now settled. DD and I love the house we are in, we have lovely neighbours and even though the house is rented, I treat it as my own as I rent it from my really good friend quite cheap, lucky for me. My future goal is to buy it from her one day which she knows and she doesn't want it back and has no intention of sellingI didn't really think I had any goals to aim for but I guess I really do!!
Take care.
Lil

Hey Lil,
Thanks, it was so sad going in. The stable was empty and everyone was really down. The boys felt like they'd lost one of their men, we all become so attached to them!
I'm excited about having a change and moving! Im going to spend this weekend giving my room a real good clear out so I have gotten rid of anything which wont come with me. Yes, E-bay could definitley see some action this weekend!
That's a fantastic set up for you. What a brilliant friend! That's a great goal to aim for, being able to own your house.
Hope you're well!

Still not heard from flat 1 so I'm assuming they don't want me to come back to meet the others.
Nothing more has come up on the site, anything worth a look is above my budget. Will keep my eye on it and see what happens. I have a feeling quite a lot will come on after the olympics, I heard some landlords are planning to charge really high fees for short lets over the olympic period which means once thats over more will become available.
I can't wait for Olympics to be over, I work right near the station which connects the tubes and trains to Stratford and TFL predict I could wait up to an extra 30mins to get on a train!!! STUFF THAT!!! I will be using it as motivation to get running and will run/walk the 6.3 miles home - shame that won't save me money as I have a yearly travelcard.
Exam results are 3 weeks on Thursday! EEP!
Went riding again this am, it was my friends birthday so we went out and had a good ole chin wag. She is having drinks on Friday which I've saved £20 for, she told me I can stay at her place Friday night so I don't need to worry about getting home! yay! The rest of the weekend will be spent giving my room a proper clear out!Santander 0% £1,529.94

So sad about the horse.
I know he couldn't be allowed to suffer, but with something like that you don't even have any warning so there is the shock as well.
It sounds as though you're making great progress with clearing! I dread to think how I'd clear/pack if I decided to move. In the days when I moved a lot it helped me not to collect quite so much junk!Miggy

Sorry to hear about the horse but at least he had a good time on the parade. It is sad when they have to be put to sleep. I remember the horse Synchronised at the Grand National - he was a character and took off on his own after spooking and then after he was brought down he got up and carried on jumping before he did himself a mischief and had to be put to sleep. Yes it was sad but then it what you come to expect when you keep animals. (Don't mean to sound harsh).
You have my sympathy re packing - I am up to my ears in boxes and bubblewrap (I need a mountain of packing tape too). I have got professional removal men to move me rather than me have the faff of hiring a van and roping some mates into helping me move as I know they will curse and swear whereas the removal chaps do removals all the time so wont curse and swear so much.
Somethings are easy to pack and I was given a tip yesterday that when I pack my glassware to put some clothes in on top - not only to provide extra protection but also to pack heavy stuff with light stuff. Where does all the stuff come from anyway? I seem to have accumulated loads:(
Re spiders - get yourself some conkers, !!!!! them and leave them by doors and on windowsills - this deters spiders. Or you could buy a product from lakeland which is a spray containing conker juice that deters them. Must admit that I am not overly fond of the things but I can just about cope unless they are the jumping variety which scare me silly:(
No news on the job front just yet - I have provided all the information she wanted and then some so now I wait.
I can hear the kettle calling me - it must be time for coffee (yes, I treated myself to some after discovering that my favourite brand was half price so I would pay £3 for it and not £6:eek:).0 -
Hi LG,
just popping out of lurkdom at last - glad you survived the exams, the results come round so quick don't they! One of the girls in our office has had ACCA exams today and it reminded me of you.
Also so sorry to hear about the poor horse. They can do so much for animals these days and it is always very sad that some things are too much even for the very modern-ist of medicine. But as humans we owe it to ourselves and our animals to do the right thing by them and not let them suffer.
will keep fingers crossed tight for you

Hi LondonGirl,
just popped in to say hi as I've been catching up on your diary.
You make so much progress and your attitude is brilliant.
You sound like you're doing so well for yourself at work, I'm 26 and feel I have a long way to go to reach the same place career-wise as you! It's given me something to think about!
Sorry to hear about the horseSo sad.

Re spiders - get yourself some conkers, !!!!! them and leave them by doors and on windowsills - this deters spiders.
I've heard about conkers too (such a silly name, makes me laugh each time I type it) but I have 2 questions:
1. Where do you get them (I mean, I know where they come from but where do you actually get them?)
2. What's the !!!!! that you do with them?
I spent my first summer living on my own with a garden last year and I had a lot of hairy moments! I'm scared to read any stories about them as I want to believe it's still too early for them!0 -
Hi LG,
Finally caught up with your diary again. Things sound a little up and down at the moment, and I'm so sorry to hear about your horse. What a sad time.
I hope you find something on the new accommodation soon as although I know you're in no rush you must also feel a little in limbo. It is a great time to clear out without the pressure of an actual deadline though so good luck with that.
Also, I hope the exam results are better than you expect.0
