Lil and Erme, I agree with you re the damp. I need to get a friend to confirm it is that for me, there's cracks along the ceiling and the windows are rotting (they're wooden) nor do they shut properly so you can feel a draft if you sit near them.
It's just since I've been looking anything which would be an improvement is a lot more and would make such a dent into debt busting so I'm doubting it now, i will keep looking for sure in case a bargain pops up....
Didn't spend anything yesterday, tonight I am off to the O2 to watch Westlife, it was my birthday present from S my flatmate, she started this routine of buying tickets for each others birthdays but its so flaming expensive I need to break the habit. It's her 30th in Sept so I feel I have to reciprocate this year but I will tell her next year we need to do cheaper things! So tonight I have to pay for dinner out (we are using tastecard to get 50% off)Santander 0% £1,529.94

Westlife were amazing at the O2! It was their last ever London gig and they all got quite emotional! The crowd was 95% women - to be expected - so lots a screaming etc etc
Friday was a good day at work, I'm really enjoying work at the moment, S and I work really well together - she's my team leader that moved over to the finance team with me. I thought it might not be as good not working for J at first who is very laid back but S is fun and we have great chats, she's v ambitious and so encourages me in my work and motivates me to do a good job, so that's all good.
Still ANOTHER month until exam results, every so often I think about it and realise that right now someone could be marking my papers..! I hope they're in a good mood when they do! I tried to write neat so its not difficult to read but its so time pressured!
Tomorrow is a quiz at the rugby club I help out at, they're raising money for charity so its £10 a head which includes a BBQ, Im going to pay from my pound coin stash, payday is two weeks on money, I think its going to have to be the most frugal two weeks ever, despite all best intentions with money I still haven't gotten back into MSE mode, I enjoyed having the freedom of spending money again that I gave myself during exams but it can't carry on or I'll NEVER be debt free. I need new motivation, I need a plan for next month to make it the most MSE since my exams. I want to pay off £550 and go back to £10 a day and I need to start leaving my debit card out of my purse again.
Have emailed two flats today to ask for a viewing, the one I viewed before never got back to me and I saw they re-listed it so they must be looking for someone different - I think they were scared off when I told them I get up at 5am to ride horses! HASantander 0% £1,529.94

Urgh what a rotten Monday,
So far i have literally been taken for a ride by a horse in the pouring rain and had my time wasted in a meeting all morning. So not had the best start and I know I will ache tomorrow from that ride
Just check my bank account and I have £53 to last till payday now plus approx £25 in pound coins... £5.50 per day that works out at. Considering I dont have much planned I think its OK. Im having lunch with my friend this week but it is his turn to pay which I hope he remembers!
I was supposed to view a flat tonight but they cancelled saying they found someone and the one I viewed the other week FINALLY came back to me and they asked if Im free to meet the others this week so fingers crossed they are nice.
I hated spending so much time in the flat this weekend, its so grotty and rundown, I think I have to move even if temporarily I have to re-consider if I can afford to pay off debt at £550 per month. I also have to hope Mum and Dad can lend me the deposit as I won't get my current flat deposit back until we find someone to take my room.
My flatmate, S turns 30 in September. She said last night she was to do afternoon tea at The Mayfair hotel then a big night out with a meal and a bar/club which is all well and good expcept it will cost an arm and a leg AND this is the same flat mate who started the present thing with buying concert tickets which I also have to reciprocate. So I need to explain to her that I can't afford to spend over £200 on her birthday even if she is 30! she knows my money situ so I hope she won't be too unreasonable about it....Santander 0% £1,529.94

Hey LG
Good news on the flat front, I really hope things work out for you. I've not had a good day either but too long to explain on here, its on my diary though.
I'm lucky on the friends front really. I only have one great friend who I go out with and we usually go out once a week, but where we live one night out doesn't break the bank. I can usually get away with £30.00. She totally understands though if I can't afford it and does sometimes offer to pay but I feel like I'm taking the p if I do that. We also have tea together at least one night a week too.
I'm looking forward to news on the flat front, wish you could post pics. I love having a nosey at the inside of houses and flats and get my fix from the expensive houses around here on the popular houses for sale site lol.
Keep us updated!!

Hey!
Lil - I will pop over to your diary and catch up, I still havent managed to read them all yet!!
Your friend sounds great, those are the ones to keep! I've made a decision to let one of my "friendships" die out recently, I think I've mentioned her on here before. She doesn't understand the value of money and just doesn't get it that I physically can't afford to go on wild nights out in Mayfair.. she came to the dinner I organised a few weeks ago for the rugby club and spent the entire thing critisicing something me and others put a lot of work into and that everybody else enjoyed. I decided I didn't need her negative input into my life any more and just haven't been in touch since.
Flat update!
I saw one last night which I LOVED! It wasn't too much more than what I currently pay and the people were great, I had a great chat with them and the living areas are huge. Only drawback- the bedroom is seriously small! I looked at it and I actually don't know if I could manage, I have a lot of "stuff" including all my riding kit, my study books and folders and i just dont think I could fit my life into one double wardrobe from a large double, 2 chests of drawers, a bookcase, shelves, desk.... sigh. I haven't written it off and plan to go for a second view on Saturday to see what I think as they're holding more viewings over the weekend.
I am going back to first flat next week now as the 3rd flatmate is back this weekend.
I am viewing a third this evening, looks a nice size from the pics and is on a nice road close to my current home.
I am viewing a fourth on Sunday morning which looks nice but is living with just one guy.... I think bills would be cheaper with more people to split them by...
Will keep you updated.
Here's a question: WHEN IS THIS BL00DY FOOTBALL FINISHING????
Had a nicer ride this morning in the sun on a lovely horse called Apocalypse and a good natter with my friend who joined us. They're setting up allsorts in Hyde Park in prep for the olympics and there's a lot of banging and crashing which sets all the horses off!
Money: haven't spent anything all week! Which is good, I was supposed to be out tomorrow night with friends but I cancelled and told them I have no money which they were OK with... no plans other than flat hunting this weekend so hopefully it will be spend free
I went for my first run yesterday since JANUARY! I am in a whole world of pain today!! This is the start of my half marathon training, im using the adidas app on my phone and it has set me a training plan to get me to 13m by August, I need work. We only did 3m yesterday and I can barely walk now! Run 2 tomorrow....Santander 0% £1,529.94

Och I have given up running due to bad knes
Anyhow cycled to Mr. A and Mr Al (only to discover most of the stuff I got in mr A was cheaper in Mr Al ) and then found the last bike basket in Mr Al for £10 so shoved all my groceries in there and somehow got it in my panniers LOL
Then got chewing gum on my shoe cos there was no way I was going to take the big roundabout when like I was laden and stuff was coming out of the top of my panniers and they wouldn't even close!!!!
What is it round here...so many folk are riding on the pavements it's unreal. Roads are left to speedos on racing bikes in lycra  Pavements are for pedestrians not for cyclists...if you insist on having your bike on the pavement please do not ride at 4mph or even 2 or 3 - you are more dangerous than you are on the road!!!
At one time I used to go aghast at cyclists using the green man on the crossing to speed a head of the green light...This is far worse!!!!
Maybe I should email the local paper?

Just catching up LG.
I will hear about whether or not I have been successful on Friday as they were interviewing more people this week. Fingers crossed I have got it.
I spent some money at the weekend on a small teapot from Dunelm - mum spent money on buying 3 blinds for the house, fingers crossed the contracts will be exchanged this week and I can start booking removals. I have had some pretty wierd quotes - one firm quoting £195 for an inordinate amount of men yet they were unwilling to provide a quote via email or in writing, others have been a bit more expensive and one even demanding my co-operation (wierd or what?), I think I have decided on a firm who are not the cheapest but are the most professional (they are cheaper than Pickfords though at more than half the price).
Struggling today - I have updated my anti-virus software, I had to buy a new licence and it has been installed but I keep getting an error message from the old software saying that it has expired despite it being overwritten.:(
I have had a bad few days eating wise - eating all sorts of rubbish, biscuits and choccy bars mainly - all due to stress:(
The agents came around for a viewing and bought 4 people who looked down their noses and generally were a pain in the backside. The agents now come when I say and when I am in rather than at their leisure. I still have much to pack and it is getting depressing, the charity shop is doing well though as it all ends up there:rotfl:0 -
Hi guys,
Hope you're all well!
Quick update.
Turned down the flat with the nice people and the small room. It was just too small.
Still waiting to hear back from the nice one I viewed a while back but needed to meet the others about when I can meet them.
Am viewing one this afternoon very nearby. It's an extra £160 a month which is the BIG downside. That will be a huge chunk out of debt busting. The advert looks fantastic though hence why I decided to view it
Am viewing another tomorrow which is £45 less a month but a bit further away, quite close to Regents Park actually on Abbey Road (near the recording studios). Its cheaper as it was originally unfurnished, the current girls have furnished it and just want £150 to pay to the girl leaving to buy my share of the furniture of her.
I'm really suffering at the moment with my fear of spiders. It's completely irrational but is starting to take over, since I found a large-ish one on my bed last weekend. Later my flatmate is v kindly going to help lift my mattress and check for me. Last night I lay awake dreadming up all sorts of ridiculous scenarios about them and Im worried if I do move flat about packing and finding them... urgh.
Money is doing OK, spent almost nothing this weekend got £33 to see me through this week and £20 set aside for the weekend - friends birthday - then I get paid next Monday! Phew!Santander 0% £1,529.94
