Hey LG,
Even though you weren't keeping a close track you still didn't go too far off and buy extravagant things for yourself, so you've taken some steps forward for when this needs to be auto pilot.
How's your cough? I've been hit with some sort of flu virus and have been floored this week. I hope you're feeling better and it hasn't hit you too hard.
Good luck with studying days this week. x0 -
Hey Muffin,
Thanks, it does feel a bit easier to keep in check than it did before but i can feel old habits slipping back in, which I'll concentrate on next month, it could have been much worse however!
It's OK thanks, I feel like its waiting to completely floor me, didn't feel good at all yesterday but not feeling too bad today. Yours sounds awful, hope you feel better v soon

It's so easy to slip back into bad habits isn't it! Mine is using my card for everything so I don't see the physical loss of money from my purse. Definitely makes a difference.
Just set aside my £10 a day for the rest of the month and trying to plan my finances now!"Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

The exhibition last night was wonderful, some really beautiful paintings of all the horses, I treated myself to a pack of the postcard prints - the originals were anywhere between £4k and £25k EEP!
Last day at work today for this week then its time for college fun!
One thing I will do tomorrow between revising is sort out £££ for the month as I get paid tonight. Will withdraw my spends and whizz off all my payments elsewhere! We got our payslips through last night and I'm SO happy as I have £150 more than I thought because the share save contributions don't start being taken until next month! Phew!
I'm going to make the most of that extra money and pay for things in advance I know I have coming up. Like present for a wedding in June, and the yearly fee of £50 for our riding (this is a new thing and they donate it to their charity, but compared to paying £50 for an hour elsewhere I aint complaining!) and train tickets to get to said wedding!
I'm just making the minimum payments towards debt this month with the hope that I will be better than I think and can make overpayments at end of the month.
I will be paying a lot more out this month as can't take advantage of all the free meals at work so will need to plan ahead for that.
Army boy got in touch this week, he left a bunch of stuff at mine over new year so wants to swing by and come and pick it up. hmmm

Overall better off compared to March £992.36
Overall better off compared to Sept 11 £4,583.54
So, overall another great month for debt busting thanks to the overpayment I could make. Daily spending has taken a hit as we know but not dwelling on that, going to have a look at my spending diary for the month and look at what to cut out next month.
Next month, planning to stick to the £10 a day but have given myself the wiggle room if being MSE needs to take a backseat until after exams! So pleased that when I post next months update they will be done with!!!
Going to meal plan for when I'm at home and take in lunch to the days I'm at college, food will be a bigger expense this month but thats to be expectedSantander 0% £1,529.94

:T:T to the unexpected £150! :T:T
You seem very organised - good to have it all worked out now and have some leeway financially so you can concentrate on studying.

good going LG! Fantastic to see your commitment! Its going to ebb and flow as life does, but you are going in the right direction. Sometimes life gets in the way, but you live and learn and make adjustments. When I have overspent I look at where and why, and what I would rather spend my cash on. So if I'm having a tough month (feeling fed up and with a lot of stress) I often will wake up late, buy lunch & coffee out, buy clothes & shoes, go out for drinks with friends, eat take aways. Then I think eeekkkkk! and work out a plan, so when things are tough on me I need to go easier on myself. In doing that I'd rather 1. be with friends & have a laugh, 2. have new things and last eat out lunch from the bakery. So If I'm sleeping more, I'll try to batch cook at the weekend & look round bootfairs/Cs's/ebay that way I free up the cash to be with friends! Phew complicated!!!
Good luck with the studying xDF as at 30/12/16
