And did you like them? :) I have such a backlog of books people have lent me (often without checking whether I actually want to borrow them, LOL) that I haven't started some I got for Christmas. Maybe I just need to hand the borrowed books back and enjoy the ones I want to read... :)

    Absolutely fantabulous thanks! :D

I think there are times when making sandwiches is just one thing too much and you have to cut yourself some slack, and that's what you've done. You need to do what you have to to keep going especially as you've been under the weather. I hope the flu's gone now by the way?

Great idea! And you might find it easier to study there than at home as well?

Yes both very good, will make a trip back on Sunday to get a couple more, though not too many or ill read those books instead of study books!

    Great! :D

Thanks, yes thats exactly what it felt like, one thing too much, Next week looking a lot quieter so looking forward to planning out meals again as my freezer stocks are all eaten! Yep flu finally gone :D

Yes I think I will, I studied at home all day today and I did get tonnes done and completed the mock exams I need to hand in but I do procrastinate!!!!

Wow LondonGirl, those figures will be looking very impressive!

And the idea of investing in the share scheme for three years sounds like a good step towards getting a decent chunk towards a house deposit.

We get free financial advice at work (also a financial services company) too. It is definately worth getting another person's input on your situation but you have to be careful because at the end of the day they are out to sell their products.

Thank you :D It's getting me really excited that I can see hope in the future of real, proper savings for the first time ever in my whole life!

Ah you're so right, I hadn't thought about that so thank you :) I just assumed it was work being nice but they wouldn't do it for free for no reason!! DUH! haha

Hope all good with you, did you get out riding in the nice weather?

    Hey gang,

I received my lovely cheque from sharesave over the weekend and paid it in yesterday so it should cash on Friday, which is also when I get paid so my overpayment will need to be in next months figures.

Spent a bit too much over the weekend with being at Twickenham and out and about but get paid on Friday so going to last until then and then next month I'm back on the wagon big time.

Next month is very quiet socially and is all about college and revision so I'm hoping I can get back into the swing of it without too much temptation.

My PO DD should go out today or tomorrow then I can officially declare myself at under £10k of debt!

Loving the gorgeous weather this week, went out for a ride yesterday which was such a nice start to the week. Tonight Im staying behind at work with 2 others who are studying CIMA to get some revision done.

Even my freezer stocks are looking poor, I need to make some soup at some point. This weekend is when I go to Milan with work though so maybe one night next week... my flatmates have actually started using the freezer a lot more too so I can't even fit that much more in. Need to think of other ideas, cooking for one every night is far to expensive.

Milan?! Will you get any time to go out and enjoy it? :)

This weather must be lovely for riding. I almost feel like going out and borrowing a horse but I've not had a lesson since I was ten so I think I might end up sore. :D My Mum used to ride in Epping Forest and I think it must be so good to do that.

I am admiring that cheque of yours: great to be able to put a lump towards debts!

Our freezers are largely full of meaningless bits which I keep trying to use up but I've made soup a couple of times recently too. It's very handy to grab a frozen tub of soup to take to work (harder to spill!)

Looking forward to seeing you reach the magic under £10K mark! We should have a party. I will bring the virtual cream cakes. :)

Sometimes you need a little splurge - I had one today but I did get food to replenish my stores a little and I got a few bits for new home e.g. a double mattress protection cover and a couple of door wedges. I was quite gleeful yesterday when my Lakeland garden catalogue arrived and it included a free packet of sweet basil seeds (how sad is that to get gleeful over a freebie?).

Keep your credit card at home when you go to Milan - it is very expensive out there but it is a great place for window shopping. Well done on the debt busting - I am trying to do the same yet save at the same time.

I received a letter yesterday from Scottish Power about leaving them and to be honest I didnt really want to leave so I rang them up - I now have my electricity price fixed until 2013 (or is it 2014?) and they have saved me a little over £2 a month. They have said that I can add gas to that package when I move. Just wishing that the vendor's solicitors would hurry up - I want to be in there and mum wants to get the new windows and lintels fitted plus the new fuse box and lightshades. I nearly had a panic when she said that the house needed new lightfittings because I hadnt thought about them so mum told me to look as she had found some nice ones and then said that she would pay for them:j She is also getting a decorator in so that I don't have to do any painting:cool:

Last Friday mum bought me a runner for the lobby and on Thursday she will be getting a bathroom bin and a toilet brush from Aldi for the house and she may even get a white cotton bathmat.

I have found a way of reducing my book collection by lending them to dad and he then passes them onto one of mum's friends for her father. Dad is now quite frail and there was marked change from seeing him on Friday to seeing him on Sunday:(

Oh, I am visualising myself in a job that I have seen that is close to new home - I will be able to walk to work...just need to finish the application form off. Visusalising seems to work as it worked for the house.:D

I had missed that you are getting a new place Horace - how exciting! and how nice of your Mum to treat you to things for it!
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. It's very hard to see this happen. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure the books are a big help to him though: something to do and be involved in is a real positive.

We need to go to try and persuade them to adhere to accounting rules!! We're landing Sunday late afternoon and flying back Monday afternoon so hoping to get a couple of hours on sunday to explore!

It's so nice, especially in the morning when the sun is coming up. You should go and have a couple of lessons to get back into it then get out and about!!

Thanks :) can't wait for it to clear!!!

Ooh can we please have a party?! :D

As of today I can officially say that I owe less than £10,000 in debt!!!
    :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
The direct debit has gone out and I'm sooooo happy!!!!!! I now owe £9,997.98. And once this cheque has cleared it will be a lot less again!

Need to go and update my siggy now :)

Today started well with a lovely ride and later I have lunch for mystery shoppers, its quite a nice restaurant and have £40 to spend so that will be a nice treat :)

Thanks team for helping me get this far since I started this diary I have paid off just under £4,000 and I honestly believe without your help and this site that I would be that much more in debt by now.
