Hi all,
Hope you've all been out enjoying the sun today, it is glorious down here.
On Friday I managed to catch up on an awful lot of work and left the office on time feeling good!
My two good friends are moving back to NZ this month so I swung by their drinks on the way home - in Mayfair (KER CHING um tap water please!!!) - Only one of them was there (his wife is always late if she shows at all!) and D threw me in with his work mates, now I'm the kinda girl you can chuck in any crowd and I'll hold my own and talk to literally anyone, but if the people don't want to talk to you, whats a girl to do??? I stood like a lemon for far too long feel really rather stupid, as I was about to cut my losses a knight in shining armour appearing in the form of T. I had sat next to T and their wedding last year and he was lovely, came straight over and started chatting. I was talking to him about studying and he said he knew how it was as he's not long finished his CFA and he was so sweet and gave me some really good advice to manage stress and the workload, i didnt stay much longer but just talking to him felt good.
I was at college all day yesterday for my tuition with the lovely mad Irish lady tutor, she's so good and entertaining to listen to that you don't feel like its an effort to be there, as it was the last day of that subject course we were given feedback forms so I wrote some glowing feedback for her! Hope I get her again for the revision course!
I went to the local last night to see off my friend whos moving to San Franciso (all my mates are leaving - was it something I said?!) and despite it being full of his rugby player mates (some of which play for England!!!) I managed to keep my cool and stick to OJ and only spent a fiver, after I'd watched them down the 15th round of sambucas I decided to leave them to it and headed home!
Up early this morning and had a good start to revision until the rest of the flat woke up and every little noise knocked my course of thought. So packed up my bags and decided to make use of the colleges silent study rooms for the first time and so pleased I did! I had a full mock exam to complete and the suggested time is 3.5 hours, last time I did one at home it took me the whole day, but at college I managed it in 4 hours and think I had a good stab at it. So I decided to have some "me" time and walked back along the river and by Westminster to the tube which was pleasant.
So this week brings evening school on Monday and Wednesday and I have bought food to make a pasta salad to take which I'll make tonight and a FOUR DAY WEEKEND!! Woo Hoo!! I have zero planned for it other than studying but I will make sure I take an afternoon off to do something nice without feeling guilty!!
Have a good week all, will try and update more frequently this week!Santander 0% £1,529.94

OK pasta salad for tomorrow night made and enough ingredients left over for Weds too.
54 days until exams are over, I hereby pledge that I want to give up alcohol until I walk out of that last exam.
Day one - no alcohol tick!
I had noticed a pattern of the days after Id drank alcohol recently I feel most down about my current exam, financial, work situation and figures as alcohol is a depressant it could well be linked PLUS its cheaper and healthier not to drink!
Going to try and report in on this everydaySantander 0% £1,529.94

Morning everyone!
A nice bright Monday morning here in the city, just done my online banking for the day and so far im £17 under budget which is good, going to try and keep it that way.
College tonight and salad is in the fridge so a NSD day for me and no drink day No2.
I forgot to bring in the mock exam I did yesterday so cant post it off until tomorrow now, ah well they're pretty quick quick at marking them and sending them back. Looked through the notes for tonight and it looks like the hard stuff was all in the last class which is good!
All my DD's for debt have gone out for the month bar the Post Office one which is for £91 and will take my % to 35%Santander 0% £1,529.94

I have just paid £40.90 for train tickets to go home to Mum and Dad's over Easter.
With college closed and all the librarys closed I wasn't looking forward to trying to work at the flat in our open plan living/dining room as its impossible to concentrate when everyone is in the flat , as they are over Easter. So, I figured it'd be good to go home and I can use Mum and Dads dining room which is separate from the main living space so I won't be disturbed, plus it'll be nice to spend some time with them and my niece and ALSO my old neighbours whose daughter is my god daughter are both CIMA qualifed so I can go and spend time with them for help
I transferred the money from the "holiday budget" in my savings account so it hasn't taken me over budget, I thought it'd be more expensive being so close to the weekend so I'm quite pleased with £40Santander 0% £1,529.94

Sounds like a great plan going home for Easter, for many reasons. With the fares being just £40 it almost seems like fate!0

Don't want to lecture you but make sure you have some me time away from studying and exam papers. The trip home to your parents sounds ace - I shall be spending more time with mine over the Easter weekend too.
Well done on not spending in Milan too - I must admit that I love the place and will often stand like a loon with my nose pressed to the glass looking at some majorly expensive frippery that I cannot afford.
No travel for me for a while - I need to renew my passport only have no spare funds to do so:(
No signs of my moving either - I think the vendors' solicitor is a nincompoop (very incompetent) and the vendors themselves are so flippin' lazy, my solicitor asked for some information at the beginning of March and their answer was "the papers are at the house" - well go and fetch them then!
Came back from my parents yesterday (I had dinner and tea there) with a free magazine, a cottage pie, 4 cupcakes, 2 lamb steaks and an apple pie:cool: I hate to say it but the cakes have been thawed out and eaten already:o
You are doing well with your debt busting - such an inspiration, I am doing what I can to reduce mine and thankfully the DWP are going to give me a little more dole money each week so I will be getting £71 instead of £67. I cannot wait to get off the dole so I keep chipping away because one day some applications have to come good.:D
London is a lonely place - I was there in the summer and felt so alone. Mind you I did walk across Hyde Park which was wonderful. I dared to walk from Nevern Square nr Earls Court all the way to Marble Arch - I gave in and got a bus to The Palladium though and got a cab back to the hotel.
The tube terrifies me - so claustrophobic, I can remember trying to get off a tube train in a tunnel once I was that desperate to get out and when it pulled into Oval tube station I was off that train like a rocket and up the stairs into the fresh air as quick as anything much to the delight of now ex BF. Eating is pricey too although I did find a lovely little Mexican place in Streatham which wasnt too expensive, nor were the Portugese restaurants in Stockwell. If I was out and about in the town then I would always stop for lunch at Garfunkels on Leicester Square - I have since been told that Garfunkels is dreadful:( The Texan Embassy wasnt too bad either.0 -

Thanks Horace, I will try to, Mum and Dad are taking me for a meal out with them on Saturday with some old family friends who they're going to surprise with my visit which will be niceI just dont feel I can really relax well as its always on my mind, 7 weeks today is the first one eep!!
We did the same, we did a lot of window shopping there were so many nice thing I would have loved to buy... maybe one day....
I caught up on your thread last night, it all sounds very frutrating! You'd think they would pull their finger out to get the sale through?!?! Keeping those fingers crossed for you, a job will come up soon I just know it, you've fired off so many applications I dont see how it cant...
Thats a blooming long walk!!! A nice one though! i love wandering through Londons parks - or hooning around Hyde Park on the horses hehe!
Oh poor you, I know what you mean though, when you're all crammed in like that it is horrible and I'm always pleased to get back into the fresh air. I'm using the Olympics as motivation to learn the route to walk/run to work once exams are over, I've been told its quite a nice route along Regents canal then through Regents Park and St Johns Wood up to Finchley Road, and it'll get me back into exercise, I havent so much as worn my trainers for months!!
Not tried Garfunkels, Mum and Dad like the Bella Italia restaurants that are around and Mum's Tescos clubcard vouchers usually mean it hardly costs a thing - how could I have been so bad with money when they are so good hey?!?!Santander 0% £1,529.94

So yesterday came and went with no spending
college was OK if a little dragged out, work is busy this week with month end and our boss J is away so we're a 2 woman team but I actually think we work better like this - which is just as well as it is how it will be when we move over to corporate finance!!!
Today may be non spendy if I stay late and eat a canteen sandwhich for dinner, or if I go home i need to pick up some food, I reckon I'll save loads by going home for Easter as I'd have spent too much on food in London at least I'll be well fed at Mum and DadsSantander 0% £1,529.94

Yesterday did turn out a bit spendy as I had to post a parcel to my cousin in Australia and that cost me £9.45!!
Today I have spent £1.80 on a bottle of diet coke in the station as I felt a bit weak after riding - I must eat before I go from now on!
I have also spent £46 on entry to the Run to the Beat London half marathon its not till October so all going well exams should be done by then, a bunch of us from work are doing it and work are paying back our entry fee and will also double what we raiseSo from June, thats a good reason to get back into running!
College tonight - I have got my salad in the fridge again so hopefully no more spends today!Santander 0% £1,529.94
