I can't believe I've spent about £120 on goodies for the kenwood chef .....

And most of that was this week .....

Just transferred some money from easy access savings to current account so I can go buy some wool for my crochet....

On the positives...have reduced nic conc again (only 9 days though)...sure the nic thing is now psychological but still... Sure I could vape (e-cig) no nicotine and be satisfied LOL but after my falls with chemist NRT not willing to try it :(

Hi, did you manage to get to the library? I hope you found something nice to read.

Well done for sorting out the finances. You are definitely headed in the right direction!

If you and Horace end up with a job share we will expect a daily journal! :D Actually, am I the only one who thinks it odd that we can chat away on here yet if we passed in the street we wouldn't have a clue? I did think about you when I was stuck in the crowds outseide Buckingham Palace the other week, but I expect you were at your desk.

    Get well soon. :)

    Hi,

Yes I did, I might make the trip to that one more often its HUGE!!! Got two books by authors I haven't read before so hoping I like them and can read the rest!

That would a funny journal!! I know, I often think about it as I'm wandering around, I tell you guys so much more than some of my closest friends and yet we've never met! Funny old world hey! Did you enjoy your trip?

    Thanks :)

Yeah sure I will. Didn't go out to the country yesterday:j so that saved...

Have to go into easy access savings to pay for ebay postage tomorrow. Hope it doesn't come to any more than £10. Recorded or just get a proof of posting? What do you reckon? If I do the latter I can afford to send stuff first :j. Otherwise it's second :(

If so I've made £10 on ebay this weekend...just by selling a few hats and like handbags :D...... I have loads of both anyways :T....

In a few weeks the kitchen clear out gets sold. The juicer is working fine...

Don't mention the e-cig...it's a curse word right now :(

hey erme if you have kitchen scales then you can weigh stuff before you list it and look it up on royal mail website and it will give you the price for all the postage options. if its bigger than your scales like a bigish box, put a toilet roll on the scales and balance on top so you can see the reading. that way you could list a couple of postage options with prices for buyers to pick which one. or i generally list everything 2nd class and say they can pay more if they want it faster or recorded.you dont want to be out of pocket on postage :(

obv its a bit late for ones you have already sold though :( how much is your item worth? if its less than £46 just get a proof of postage (free) and you are insured incase its broke or lost for up to £46 :)

    Morning Gang,

Well, the flu seems to be lingering on but feeling better than I did at the weekend.

Work is still really busy but me and my boss have the whole day booked out today to go through my workload which is really good. I was at college until 9pm last night and same again tomorrow night, I need to re-read last nights notes as it was pretty hard and I struggled to follow!!!

Money wise - it's tight for the last couple of weeks of the month. I get paid a week on Friday, I have mostly been sticking to £10 a day but ended up spending more at the weekend so a bit behind now, but its OK as I think I can still manage.

I haven't been as good this month purely due to time, I seem so bogged down with everything that things like making my sandwiches for college days have gone out the window and I even bought breakfast from Pret today (this is my confession btw!!) so next month, its back to being super strict, I need to plan ahead for the week again and get stuff in to make food for college. Luckily I have kept April and May very empty social-wise so that will help BUT I am off work on study leave a LOT of days in those two months - some at home and some at college so food bills will increase as I wont have breakfast and lunch provided for by work.

ALTHOUGH - I did have the brainwave of this..... my college is right by my office and they always set aside two rooms for people to go in and study. Rather than staying at home some days I could go into college to study and then pop over to the office for food :) hehe is that totally MSE or what?!?!

Exams start 10 weeks today! Sounds like a long time but it really isn't, me and the two girls at work who are studying too are going to start a Tuesday night study club and I think we're starting tonight! I always drive them mad with weekly countdown emails! haha

Am just about to make egg mayo for sandwiches :)...will cook eggs in micro :). just crack 'em into a bowl. and put on for about a minute or two (pricked)...sorted..

Made meringues in the kenwood this am....Yum. For Dr. C

more stress...but hey ho... Sibling is in Norway and didn't tell me when I'd been texting her ...it's like she doesn't want a meaningful relationship and any contact has to be 100% on her terms. Have 2 relationships already like that. Don't need another. They at least text/phone from time to time - Unlike Sibling. So sibling has to go :)

    Morning gang,

I'm off work today, using a lieu day from when I worked a Saturday, so currently enjoying a nice lie in :) got a free eye test later then spending the day studying!

Had some awesome news for debt busting yesterday! I'm in the company share save scheme, where they give you a discounted option price to buy shares in 3 years time, if you invest a fixed monthly amount up to £250.

I thought this money was completely tied up for 3 years.

This week we got the letter inviting us to join this years new scheme, this years option price is much better than last years so I was saying to my boss its a shame I couldn't switch over. I currently invest £100pm so could theoretically invest up to £150 more but I want to use all my cash for debt busting!

Then he told me that I can indeed stop last years and start all over again. And..... this is the best bit....... get all the money back you've saved so far :) I have a cheque for £1,000 arriving next week :D chuffed or what!? :j:beer::D:j:beer::D:j:beer::D:j:beer::D:j:beer::D:j

I have joined the new scheme as the share price is so low to buy at it could be worth a lot of money in 3 years time if the share price goes up, which will be a huge chunk towards saving for a deposit!

So, when the cheque clears I will go into Nationwide and pay £1,000 off my loan and reduce my DFD by another 2 months!!! I'm hoping it will clear in time for payday so I can add it to the stats inc my bonus and this month will look incredible!

Next week, work have arranged for some financial advisors to come in and you could book an appointment for an in depth financial review, so I have booked one and am going to show them my situation and see if they have anything we haven't thought of!

Tomorrow me and my flatmate are going to Twickenham to watch England vs Ireland in the last leg of the 6 nations, Im so excited, we got really cheap tickets through our local rugby club and are in row 2!!! EEK! That is my last big day/night out before cracking down big time (even more so!) for exams, I want to try and give up drink until they are over but I think I might get too stressed and give in! haha

On Sunday, my friend has set me up with his friend, he doesn't live in London so we'd been exchanging messages over facebook and he happens to be staying with a mate in London this weekend, so we're going to meet up for a couple of hours... watch this space

And did you like them? :) I have such a backlog of books people have lent me (often without checking whether I actually want to borrow them, LOL) that I haven't started some I got for Christmas. Maybe I just need to hand the borrowed books back and enjoy the ones I want to read... :)
    Did you enjoy your trip?
    Absolutely fantabulous thanks! :D
I haven't been as good this month purely due to time, I seem so bogged down with everything that things like making my sandwiches for college days have gone out the window and I even bought breakfast from Pret today (this is my confession btw!!)

I think there are times when making sandwiches is just one thing too much and you have to cut yourself some slack, and that's what you've done. You need to do what you have to to keep going especially as you've been under the weather. I hope the flu's gone now by the way?

Great idea! And you might find it easier to study there than at home as well?

Wow LondonGirl, those figures will be looking very impressive!

And the idea of investing in the share scheme for three years sounds like a good step towards getting a decent chunk towards a house deposit.

We get free financial advice at work (also a financial services company) too. It is definately worth getting another person's input on your situation but you have to be careful because at the end of the day they are out to sell their products.
