Morning all!
Have a lovely nice lie in, waked to the library and got a new book out - took the Nina Bell recommendation
this time.
Had to buy a few bits as I forgot some on Weds, just beans, bread and juice which came to £5.55 so got £4.45 to take to the pub later when i go to watch England, but thats OK as only want a diet coke!
Tomorrow Im aiming for a NSD
The doorbell just rang and I just raced down expecting my pie..... No. Two ladies from a certain religious group! I mean, bless them, its minus whatever and they're doing the rounds! However, not for me! I WANT PIE!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE'S MY PIE????Santander 0% £1,529.94

Just switch the TV on and on the "Really" Channel there's a programme called Spendaholics. Figured it would be worth a watch and I'm thinking this guy just needs to come onto MSE...
The chap is nearly 30 and £40k in debt most of it to his father. He earns about £2k a month but spending way more due to going out and buying expensive champagne etc. So the experts were brought in and reviewed his spending. Currently £800 a month on going out, £800 on clothes, £550 on rent plus bills etc
Their new budget knocked the going out down to £500 and clothes down to £350 and rent down to £350 and no mention of debt repayments. I was just really shocked that a budget designed to help get him back in the black still included £850 on going out and clothes????Santander 0% £1,529.94

i was watching this today too! :rotfl:
i couldnt believe it , ive watched quite a few of the ' spendaholics' programmes on there.
one guy was in his late 30's , was at uni but worked 3 days aweek and all the money he made he spent on comics, and DVDs and clothes, then i found out, he also borrowed £200 a month off his wife to spend on his exessive comic and DVD, so basically the wife paid all the bills and supported there son, so the hubby could spend all his money on his comic/clothes and DVD

Morning all!
Woken up in a beautiful white NW London!
Stayed home last night as the pub idea was scrapped so spent a fiver on a pizza for me and FM to share - should really have saved the money but we drank 2 bottles of her wine so it was about even! lol and still within budget.
So pleased England won, can't say it was a sterling performance and if the Scots hadn't made so many mistakes I'm not sure the result would have been the same.
We all noticed the snow around 10pm so decided (a little tipsy) to don our hats and boots and go for a wander, which ended in the 3 girls on 1 boy in a snowball fight! Quite funny it has to be said!
Today's plan is NSD, planning to go for a little wander later but other than that just chilling and watching the Ireland vs Wales game. Really feeling I need to get back into exercise and running as I haven't ran in weeks and seem to be eating more and more rubbish. So going to make a healthier meal plan for the week and once the snow goes get back into running at lunch with the gang.
Army Boy is stuck in Kabul poor chap! The plane they were on got cancelled as the wings had frozen and now with snow over here I think he may be a few more days away from getting home!
I may have a date soon, one of the girls at work thinks I will like her friend - saw a picture and was impressed - apparently he is up for a blind date so I am waiting for her to tell me when! LOL only problem is, dating is not in the budget! LOL I may have to try and find some wiggle room!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Morning gang,
Already had a spendy day today, I spent £3.54 at Mr S on way to work to buy cereal and yoghurt for breakfasts for the week. Then £16.28 (GAH) at boots on floss and my vitamins - they were 3 for 2 so shouldn't have to buy them again for 6 months.
I did manage a NSD yesterday but not hugely impressed at my efforts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Friday £16 on lunch that I forgot I'd agreed to and Saturday £7 on pizza when I have food in the freezer. Need to get a bit stricter again as days Im budgeting as NSD's arent happening - even though most of it is <£10 a day which is good I wanted to stick to the stricter budget this month of £140 not £300
I am cashing in my cheque today so by the end of the week will have my £274.14 PPI money. Which I have allocated as follows:
£100 - buying Mum and Dad their birthday and xmas presents in advance on Warhorse tickets for when they come to London in Sept.
£100 - Credit Card
£74.14 - Top up the online saver.
Plan for this week:
Today - already spent. Spend no more
Tuesday - NSD
Weds - Grocery shop - £10
Thurs - NSD
Fri - College day and my FM is cooking for us all in the evening so will contribute a bottle of plonk £5
Sat - NSD
Sun - Catching up with cousin £10
Total spend £25
Next week I expect about the same which will come to £50 which is the total of my budget left, so I expect to top up the budget with approx £20 from the PPI £ that I set aside in the online saver.
Just got the Post Office DD left to go out towards debt then adding on the £100 from PPI means I'll have paid off almost £700 this month. If I can be really good and stick to the budget I want to make another over payment of £19.30 which will take me to £700.Santander 0% £1,529.94

I caught some of 'Spendaholics' too, though not the one you mentioned. Some of those people live in a different world from me!
Yes, I think us MSEers could cut their costs significantly more, though that might be a whole new programme - 'How Low can You Go?' sort of thing. They would all be buying lentils and whoopsies for 10p and cooking extra portions to freeze, talking of which they'd have to keep the heating turned off till November every year and would all join knitting circles to make legwarmers and cosy throws to keep warm. Meanwhile they'd stooze all their mortgage payments leading to being mortgage free in three years but they wouldn't be at home anyway because they'd all be out geocaching when they weren't at their four extra jobs plus mystery shopping.
I think there's the making of a programme there - how do we go about getting them to make it, and how much do you think they'd pay us? :rotfl:
I love your snowball fight! Nice and MSE :money: and a lot of fun too. It's all 'deep and crisp and even' in our back garden as DS2 hasn't yet had his friends round to do snow-trampolining as he did last year!
I'm sorry for Army Boy. I bet it's seriously cold out there. Hope they thaw out the plane soon and let him come home.
And a possible blind date for you?! :T We are all agog! You will have to find out very early on if he likes horses / running. If he's a runner you can have some MS time together and if he isn't into horses you will have to work on him.
It's probably good that you've relaxed your budget a bit for a few days. A few treats is okay, it's just has to stay that way and not go mad. It allows you to let your hair down though so you don't feel deprived.
I'm well impressed at the possible £700. You're getting very good at this whole MS malarkey, aren't you? (*Cheering you on*)Miggy
