I've just caught up on diaries today and have seen your updated sig. 14% already? That's fantastic.

I completely empathise with your feelings over your FM's holiday and know it's nothing to do with begrudging anyone anything.

You're sounding pretty busy this month already with ebay items, Quidco etc. It's really nice seeing that things are overall very positive.

I've read through some of this and love how positive you are. I wish I'd had the sense to tackle things at the same level as you instead of having to go down the official route. It's all done and dusted now though but will try to have spend free days. Won't manage it this week due to car needing work, podiatrist appointment and night out tomorrow. From Monday however, I'll withdraw my money from the week then lock up the bank card.

Where is she going for drinks to come back with a holiday?! I need in on this!!

LG, you might like to know that I've just sold a dress on Ebay for £30 (I bought it for £30). It didn't sell about 5 or 6 times but I kept relisting and being patient and now it's finally sold!

Huge well done on the 14% btw!

    Hey LondonGirl!

Just catching up on your diary again. I often read it on my phone but I can't reply on there so only really get the chance to drop you a note when I am at work.

I can see why you would feel a little sour about your flat mate's winnings - I would love a week in Eygpt too! However, like turbojet says, there is so much to explore in London and I assume you already have free travel with your Oyster Card. And maybe there are other options too if you are willing to be creative and maybe a little adventurous - like helping with charity work for an equestrian organisation (eg www.thebrooke.org) or something. I have no idea whether you would have to pay anything but worth a look if you want a break from daily life.

And like you said, you are doing so well with the debt busting that once cleared you will be able to use your new skills to save up for a holiday in no time.

There are some interesting bits of London e.g. South Bank (Namco Station where you can go on the dodgems for 50p), Nat Gallery, Nat Portrait Gallery, Tate Modern, The Tate in Millbank, the V&A, Natural History Museum. Buckingham Palace, Palace of Westminster, Horseguards. You can visit the windmill in Brixton (yes there is a windmill there). You might be able to pick up cheap theatre tickets at the large booth on Leicester Square close to the Odeon cinema where the celebs hang out when there is a red carpet do. Mind you the best road in London is the A40 which is the road out:rotfl::rotfl:

Even though I am poorer than a church mouse it doesnt stop me thinking about weekends or holidays - when I am on a more even keel I plan to go sailing on the Amelie Rose which is a wooden yacht (see The Hungry Sailors on itv) and spend a few weekends camping in Dorset - if I time it just right I might be able to go to Studland Stables and go for a hack along the beach.

Haha or the M1!! That takes me home! :) Thanks for all those ideas, I haven't done any galleries yet. So definitley will.

Quite liking this staycation idea now!!

Studland stables rings a bell... where are they? I went for my first beach hack last year and loved it! The horse I had, had never been on the beach before either so was quite green!!

She went to something to do with her mates work, she works in the hotel industry which probably explains the prize!

Well done! That's wicked! I will definitley keep re-newing mine, there is a dress that I'm re-listing for the 4th time. Might take new pics as it really is a lovely dress!!

    Thanks :D

  • Last night I did my gorcery shop with came to £2.85 of the budgeted £10 :D
Then went to Pizza Express for tea and spent exactly £10 of the budgeted £10 so quite chuffed on the past 2 days.

Received £47.18 from Quidco - they take the first fiver I found out - so have got £20 to add to tonights budget. I already sent £30 to my C Card so will update siggy.

Still waiting for halifax cheque of £274.14 but on the online banking it says the cheque was issued on the 31.01.2012 so Im sure it will arrive soon!

My budget for tonight was £25 + £20 from quidco but then I topped up my canteen card £5 so now its £40 but Im hoping to spend about half if I can, then I can spend whats left on Saturday when I go to watch the first England 6 nations game!! EXCITED!

Hi LG! I also had tea at Pizza Express along Cheapside, although I used a voucher so had 3 courses and a drink for £15! I was really chuffed with that (apart from the obvious break in the diet).

Have a great time tonight. I hope it comes in below budget so you're all set for Saturday.
