Hi everyone, I think I'm im ill-not been bothered to go to tesco for at least a week
(except the express glitch but that doesn't count!)

Just to add to the debate there was one MSE'er banned in DTD days after being tracked using his credit card with video surveillance and was shocked at the amount of footage they had on him

I think it sounds as if T's are clamping down at the moment , I mean how many of us have started to notice security following us in store

In your early DTD days it's not as important fair enough and you may choose to use your CC but once your a regular and/or you are noticed they will have the potential evidence from either your CC or credit card use

Artha is not scare mongering, I would take heed of his/her advice which has been mentioned on here by many older wiser more experienced MSE'ers than us

    Xmas Saver!
I have just received my first JTD voucher from 6 x Gallo Merlot Rose, so have £17.74 to spend. Now I am JTD virgin, so do I need to be aware of anything when I use the voucher??

Quick update no pj's at the retail park or Inshes. Couldn't see any of the 4p bottoms either.

Andrex andbatteries going through at correct price. I have one bit of good news though :D the timotei is still on offer in the town ;) sorely tempted to raid it again! They were meant to have taken the SEL off after they dealt with my DTD. Hope they still about if you get a chance to nip in.

Celebrate - I wouldn't be bothered either only i knew a few things that I really wanted that they don't have instore in Tesco and my argos never have in stock - so if I want to get them at discount ( they're all over £30 ) then I waited for this sale as I'd seen them online in sainsburys - but the !!!!!!s didn't include them online !

I know Tesco used to do the space ranger buzz and he has a belt - but online he's still full price ! Maybe they might include toys in the clubcard exchange and I might get buzz then !

Lightening McQueen Mack lego and transporter are my other 2 items !

Sorry for not replying sooner to this post but with the experience of Looby 123 I thought it may be worth refreshing it in the hope that it warns those who regularly DTD of the possible consequences, whether deserved or not and whether active or not.(not being judgemental just a heads up;))

By the way, I was assuming from your join date that you would not have experienced R&R as that ended in Feb 2007? Or are you someone else in disguise:rotfl:

I'm hopefully not trying to state the obvious to savvy shoppers but using a clubcard at Tesco (or any other reward card elsewhere) gives a lot of info i.e. who you are, where you live, where you shop, when you shop, what products you buy regularly etc. Also it can show, if they choose to interrogate the system, if you have had a DTD and then go to another store and do the same thing. This coupled with CCTV and instore scanner logs could be used to pinpoint you. I know this may seem like a bit of Big Brother but it is possible. I think Tesco could gather sufficient evidence to prosecute someone for this but probably turn a half-blind eye because of the adverse publicity it would generate.

Banning people from a local store was the usual recourse in the days of R&R but some of those who used a clubcard were allegedly banned for from all stores and had their points and clubcard deleted.

I would hope that most of you would know this as part of the culture but there may be newbies that, in their enthusiasm, may not realise this.

thanks for this artha....to be honest, I have used my clubcard on most of my transactions, including those with DTD, as there is nothing illegal or even wrong in what I have done. I do agree that if they chose to, then T could monitor each individual more closely...but so long as nothing illegal is done,I think they would struggle to do much about customers claiming DTD or 'utilising' Ts price errors!

I think it was you who said at some stage DTD will be phased out - this is my main reason for not contacting Head Office about my ban - I wouldnt want my case to be the straw that broke the camels back so to speak, and T decide to scrap DTD as its too much hassle!

At the particular store where I got banned, both times I had DTD in there, the same lady took my clubcard and removed all the points from the transaction - even those not relating to the DTD item- which I think is a bit unfair! I've never had this happen at any other store.

With hindsight, like I have said before, I got 'overwhelmed' by it all and to a degree I suppose greed kicks in (most of us dont really need most of the stuff we buy, especially on DTD)...so in a way its my own fault.....but the attitude of the staff there etc was appalling.

I think if I were to actively seek DTD again, then I would not use my cc....but one question I have is....is it possible to have the receipt scanned at a later date and gain the points,or will the reciept show that DTD had been given? Doesnt really matter, just curious! ;)
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!
