As long as you use a non tesco credit card/debit card and not a clubcard or clubcard credit card you should be ok. Cash of course is the least traceable way to pay but can raise suspicions on a large transaction.
God this is bordering on paranoia!! I used my credit card the other day for some wine and got DTD and again a few weeks ago for an item which went through too expensive resulting in a free electrical item. I'm not worried at all, I use my credit card all the time in tesco and to pay for my fuel regularly at tesco petrol stations. Do you really think anyone will care about two transactions where THEY messed up compared to the dozens each month where I pay tesco for my shopping and services?
Unless you are going into the same tesco day after day looking for DTD, then really this is a non issue and posts like this just scare people. Not having a go at you personally, but please can we stop this scare mongering.0 -
I have just had the same problem with the security tags on the PJ's!
I got one pair to see what it scanned at, with the rest of my shopping.
When it came up as £1, I sent DS back to the car with the shopping whilst I went to get a few more pairs.
Coming away fromm SS tills I see DS still in the doorway with the trolley of shopping.
He had set the alarm off and had been stopped by security guard. The matter had been made worse because I had put the PJ's in a bag of shopping that we had already got from the next door Matalan.
He showed the security the receipt but they couldn't fathom out why it didn't show £14 for PJ's.
Fortunately when I arrived clutching 3 more pairs and the receipt they realised that my son wasn't a shop lifter and that we had just struck on a bargain.
Smiles all round then, especially when I told them there were some left on the rack. The tags were quickly removed and......
last seen they were both hotfooting it around to menswear!!!!!:rotfl:
Thanks OP for tip off.:T
I also got the £1-25 Logitech keyboard.:j There was just one on the shelf which the SA said he had put out just 30 minutes earlier.
There were also some jars of Tesco tuna and sweetcorn pasta bake RTC 64p and Dallaglio Sacla bolognese sauce with red wine RTC 99p.N1LDA:D0 -
hi i got this from hukd and the poor poster who ment well got a right slating for using the wrong voucher. well i read the terms and thought it could be applied to this pack, so forgive me any voucher police around. these mccain chips http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=271571974
are about £2.60 in my co-op on a introductory price in tesco extra for £1. but you can get a further 50p off here http://www.tumbletotscoupons.co.uk/images/2011-08.pdf
i only printed the bottom part of the coupon to save ink, also i made a point of asking sa if it was ok to use voucher as it says on back of chip bag that you can cook them in the oven.
also the terms states 1 coupon per purchase so i got 2 bags.;)0 -

Artha are you referring to money laundering ?
At one time no one used to bat an eye when non business customers came into the bank with large sums of cash to pay in or send abroad in their pockets, then it became some sort of government thing that the banks had to monitor this for money laundering & tax evasion.
Many years on I doubt its made any difference although i think most of it goes into property these days0 -

No, I don't think Artha is.
Take th Bakugans, they should have been £5, but were £25 (or close enough). I bought four and had £100 go through the till and paid by card, claiming I was on the phone at the time so was distracted and did not realise the error. If I had paid cash, they would have questioned why I handed over 5 x £20 notes, instead of the one I was expecting, so more reason for them to think I was working the system and ban me.0 -

That's what i thought. In pratice, the courts will not seriously entertain any accusations of money laundering that are less than 10k, and in London, the Police will not even arrest for less than 1k, let alone investigate!
In addition, if you can prove where you got the money (savings/wages etc), with a sufficient audit trail, there is no offence of money laundering and therefore no crime.0 -

Yep I'd agree with this. I generally don't even check the amount I'm being billed and just type in my PIN, then gander at the receipt as I walk to the car to make sure its all correct. If its not then I go back. I think thats the way a lot of people behave.0 -
