Also, in reply to N_R...
I use online companies for flowers because I am busy at work and don't usually have time to go into a florist. Generally I buy flowers for relatives that live 3 or more hours drive away, therefore I need delivery. If I have required flowers for a friend locally and I had the time, I do use a local florist. So I do both.
I agree with elainew - saying "serves you right" is not a nice thing to say.0 -
I have emailed 0800 again, this time asking for a refund. If I dont hear from them by Friday afternoon I will do a chargeback.0

Well i ordered the Champagne, flowers and teddy bear from Iflorist. It had a delivery time of between 0900 - 1700. When it got to 1700 i was straight on the live chat to tell them if they weren't here by 1800 i wanted a free bouquet and a refund as we were going to dinner and couldn't wait much longer; they never arrived.
They initially offered a re-delivery (a day AFTER Valentines Day and a day after the hyped up prices have been halved!!!)
I again asked for a free bouquet and a refund.
2 days later i received the initial order with 2 teddys and 2 bottles of champagne. The flowers were lovely too. And today i see i have received a full refund.
OH was p*ssed that the package didn't arrive on the day, but is pleased about the outcome.
Hat's off to iflorist for rectifying this mistake and i will be using them again. However, informing them of this !!!! up and i hope it doesn't happen again!!0 -
My refund came thru from 08000

I too ordered the Velvet and Lace. I've seen better flowers thrown out by Sainsbury's than the dead and grotty organic mess that turned up. I will never use them again. My good lady was more than a little upset, but other gifts made her forget it quite quickly :T
Although 0800 flowers fully refunded the cost I'm still not impressed. At the end of the day they can't compensate for the diappointment caused and this is one customer that will never go back. Shameful goods.0 -
Ivrytwr3 wrote:You only have yourselves to blame. How can you justify putting up your prices 50% - 100% just because of an occassion?
Try getting your facts right before blaming people for being greedy. Florists do not choose to put the prices up, nor do the flower wholesalers. The prices double because the growers and markets can charge what they want. The entire world wants red roses for Valentine's so the wholesalers have to pay whatevers necessary. The florists themselves are paying more to buy the roses in that week than we sell them for the rest of the year.0 -

I said it 'serves you right' to all those hundreds of people who have been let down by the web based companies or the likes of Tesco etc.
Why don't you use yell.com to find a florist in the area you want a delivery then call them. There's maybe something you should realise.
All these web based companies either shave off a large percentage for the 'handling' charge and send them with a courier or use yell.com to find a local florist order it with them and pay them over the phone with a card, or shave off a large percentage and relay them through Teleflorist or Interflora anyway, so usually one way or another they end up in a local shop to where you want them delivered, which you could have found on yell.com, and have much better value for money.0
