Good morning everyone, I have been lurking around for a while and was wondering if I could join in?
I am a mother of 3 working full time as a care assistant and my husband is a grounds maintainance engineer! (fancy title for weeding and tidying up and maintainance). We have had a rough couple of years but have turned the corner and having more or less got straight are looking to well and truly living within our means.
Yesterday I spent the day giving the house a good clean from top to bottom as I have two days off - today, after another coffe I intend to have a quick tidy, sort out our finances (once a month job), and organise a curry for tea. I also have a rather large fish tank to clean out at some point as it is in a rather sorry state as dd decided to feed our fish with half a tin of fishfood.

    Smoky. xxx

    Morning :hello:

Sorry so many littlies (and biggies ;)) are ill today, I hope you all get well soon.

Speaking of which has anybody heard from rchddap1 lately (I mean in the last week or so)? I really hope her little baby is on the mend too...

My throat is still really painful but Boots ownbrand Lemsip seems to be keeping it at bay.

I have to ask this. Is it just me or do any of you find you're most motivated to get things done around the house in the middle of the night? :o I'm bone idle most of the time, and I just sit there thinking what a mess it is/really must put the WM on/blimey the place needs a good hoovering, etc etc etc, but I can't be bothered to do it. Then, just when I've thought "Maybe I'll have an early night tonight" I get off my bum and start tidying/cleaning, then once I've started I find I'm on a roll and quite often don't end up going to bed until 1am... Anyway, that's what I did last night after "The Baby Borrowers" which didn't finish until 11:20...

Anyway I'm back on my software training course for most of the day so won't be back on till much later.

    Lots of love
    Rzl xx

BIG (((((hugs))))) to anniestar. You must be such a strong person - I hope it all works out for you
((((hugs)))) to everyone under the weather or looking after those not so well

I've not posted for ages, but thought I'd just pop in and say hi. Mostly seeing the size of the thread and the number of posts (by evening) is too daunting for me

OH started his new job yesterday :T He has been out of work for 8 months (and hated it), and it has been such a struggle to get agencies to send him for interviews (even though he is highly qualified and very experienced in his field), so this is great! He is well chuffed. It is a good job with a really good salary/package.

I am having a quieter day - just cleaning the house really. Soon I need to figure out what I want to do, and get a job too *sigh* I don't want one, but have no excuse (other than laziness) not to get another one (we were both made redundant last year)

Anyway, I hope you all have a great day.

    Morning all.

Huggles to all the poorly little ones.

Good luck for the move aussielass

(((((((((((((((anniestar)))))))))))) you are so resourceful I am sure you will make it through.

Nice lazy start to the day for me, the alarm went off at 6.30 and I went to get up but DH told me to stay there whilst he sorted the kids out and did the school run, shame he was the reason I was so tired. He went to bed at 4pm yesterday, woke up at 2.30 and instead of getting up decided to stay in bed watching DVD's and generally fidgeting about for 4 hours.

I watched James Martin's Dig Deep this morning. Wicked programme where he is growing what he cooks. It was on UK Style at 9am. Well worth a watch for OS'ers.

Finally! lo in bed, peace time beckons:rotfl: yeah right

Ds1 was sick again this morning after his porridge, blood was really high, no ketones, tummy bloated, but seems fine in himself, so put him to school today, dh thought this past week he had been putting on a bit of weight as he is quie thin, the diabetes made him lose all his body fat, but no, i pointed out it was because he was bloated! men!

Lo also had a mishap this morn, was through washing up, his fave thing just now is climbing up onto the computer desk, well guess what! he slipped and banged his mouth, bleeding everywhere:eek: not my day today! he is fine now, never learns though does he:D

Think ds1's consipation might be aggravated by the homemade bread, he has had it along time so it could easily have started when i started making my own, our bread is quite dense and have a habit of not cutting it thin enough, think i will buy lakelands ajust-a slice to help.

Aussie - hope your housemove goes well, good luck:j

DLB yay! for the council:j keep us posted:D

    Morning

(((hugs))) to all the sickies, esp the lo's. Must have been a night for small people wandering around and keeping their mothers awake - DS2 spent most of the night sticking his elbows in my back :( Like most of you - I'm functioning on about 2 hours of sleep. I did think about gettng up but DS2 is such a funny sleeper he would have ended up coming down with me and been a nightmare for school - so I did the brave thing and stayed in bed with him :rotfl:

Took them to school and I came home and have done my Davina dvd. :j :j Am having a drink now and some PC time then I shall jump in the shower. Need to get on with some work related tasks today and no doubt will find time to do some general housework too. DS2's bed needs stripping - little accident was the cause of him waking up! Will put BM on today too. I think tea will be a freezer surprise :D However, I have about 3 tonnes of carrots and I quite fancy a carrot soup, so that will be on the books later.

Scuzz - I've been hearing about Eragon, although the reader is 10. So you recommens it for adults too? I need a new book.

Rzl - I'm like you - generally 'dead' in the morning but often to be found cleaning at 11pm :D

Ok - shower beckons so have a good day and hope you have a good move and happy times in the new house Aussie :D

    Morning all.

It's been a while since I've been posting, damn real life getting in the way!

Still OS and still reading the boards when I have the time but with a job change and currently no internet access at home for a while I'm not going to be posting much. Hope everyone is well, healthy and happy.

Am also ridiculously busy clearing out my house for houseguests 4 of them! so I don't have a spare room to hide all our rubbish in. Oh well at least it's motivation to have a good clear out.

    (((HUGS))) to all.

  • Hi everyone :hello:

Hope you are all OK, especially those who are ill or with poorly little ones today. Had a bad night here, DS2 wouldn't sleep (teeth maybe?) until almost 1am, but fortunately no wakings after he finally dropped off. DS1 up at 6.30 as normal, banging the wall with his toys.

Feeling good this morning, have tidied up a bit (DS1 is at nursery) and going to get the BM on. Roasted some squash last night so will make that into soup for lunch - yum. Going into town to buy a new electric whisk thingy with my Argos voucher, and some nappies with my advantage points, and some bits from Wilkos.

I'm a morning person (OK you can strangle me now) - if I can get a good night's sleep I'd rather be cleaning at 6am then veg out in the afternoon.

Ooh, feel even better now as I flicked over to check my c/c statement in another window and it is £200 less than I thought it would be - that's including Christmas too. Thanks to everyone here for helping me make January a cheap month! (so far anyway!)

Good luck Aussiegirl with the move and dlb with the fence.

    Hello again,

Just got home and had a nice warm shower and washed my hair etc. ;) Thanks for the good wishes. We are pretty much 90% moved now. Just the beds, computer :D, & bits and pieces. Everything has been shoved up at the new house with the *I'll sort out that once I'm in*.

Actually it will be good that I have no internet access. I have no tv either until Friday. So the plan is that having no distractions I will just fly through it all. :dance:DD is back at work tomorrow. Gladly I might add. :D I got her to mow this arv. I have to really give this place a good clean tomorrow once all the furniture is out. I haven't bothered much this week with it and you can draw your name into the floor with the dust. :o

Well off to have a wee surf and then hit the sack. See you all in a few days and take care. xxx
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
