ATOS - good stories please?
Comments

The sponsorship of the paralympics by ATOS is just obscenely offensive, its such a blatant attempt at appearing legitimate in the face of criticism. Their better of keeping a low profile.
Well, if the old saying any publicity is good publicity is true, atos must be pleased they got a mention on channel 4 here.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

They should wise up.
Name one sponsor that is in league with the IOC that is in any way ethical.0 -
I know this site has lots of the not so good - and downright disgusting - stories of ATOS medicals, as someone who will shortly be applying for DLA and ESA can I please hear of good stories to get a better picture?
Filling out these forms and acknowledging that you are in need is hard and scary enough without the constant feeling that you are going to fail at the first hurdle and be subjected to unfair medicals and have to go down a long road of appeals and tribunals to get your entitlement, so think why bother?
So come on, there must be some people out there with good experiences of their contacts with ATOS?
One of the receptionists I saw before I went in for my ESA assessment didn't look too bad.
Other than that, I seriously and honestly can't think of a single good thing to say about them.0 -

Had my home visit the doctor could see how much i was in a panic, Well we only seem to hear bad things so here is a good one,
As the doctor could see how bad i was doctor said that they need to ask a few things but will be out of here within 10 mins,
Asked a few questions didn't examine me at all and even added things i don't really suffer from to make sure i passed, Well it's down to the DM and won't know for a few weeks yet,
So now because of what the doctor wrote i'm now a agoraphobia zombie who cannot do anything at all and i do mean anything
Doctor was in and out in less than 10 mins i asked what i need to do now doctor just said wait but hinted i would pass no problem.
I phoned today to see what was happening i've passed the medical but DWP have nothing back yet when asked what group i was in she couldn't tell me but seemed to hint at the support group.
I hope you will be reporting the doctor to the general medical council, as what you describe is a incredibly serious allegation of a serious breach of medical ethics.
I would also suggest informing the dwp of any untrue statements in the report.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

Hi everyone
As the original poster's asked for positive stories on here, if you could post and discuss negative stories on another thread, making sure you keep it friendly, that would be great.
ThanksCould you do with a Money Makeover?

Can you clarify what you mean, as so far, people seem to have been posting what they think is a 'positive' story (take the example above which states it is a good story).
But as per the example above, it obviously was a negative story, even though they thought it was a positive.
Do you mean people should refrain from pointing out serious errors that make a 'good story' mean its not actually a good story, and for example, in the above case (and others) refrain from giving solid advice on reporting a doctor for a alledged breach of medical ethics, and informing the DWP of the problem with the report, so that there is no chance of them being accused of benefit fraud at a later date.
(after all, if the dwp have it on record that they are suffering from a condition or symptom they dont have, and they didnt inform the dwp that the doctor made that up, the dwp will be basing a decision on evidence the claimaint knows is false, which would mean benefit fraud).
As if MSE wants people to keep quiet about benefit fraud, and not offer assistance in that regard to ensure a crime is not committed, then would that not be rather a unusual stance to take?
Or do you mean, simply refrain from posting and known negative stories in the thread?[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

"even added things i don't really suffer from to make sure i passed,"
Ok let me clarify i do suffer from the things but never added them to the ESA50 form, But the doctor must have thought it was important enough for them to add notes, So why should i report the doctor for doing their job by helping me by adding notes.0 -
