So guesswork on your part then?
An esa55 folder would contain details about the claimaint.
As they said he did not have 'any details about her' then that would rule out having any details about them.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

Still, doesnt suit your conspiracy theory, so why let that get in the way.0 -
ONW I don't think the thread has turned at all although is in danger of doing so now I fear! So please let's keep this nice, the other threads gone that way so people can keep it on there if that's ok.
If you think that this thread is still a place where people are offering their stories of positive experiences, then you must be reading a different one from the one I'm reading!
There's at least one person here who's very threatened by the fact that the majority of claimants are happy with their experiences of ATOS as it threatens their conspiracy theories.0 -
My experience of ATOS has been fine. It was a stressful excersise filling in the ESA50 form and took considerable effort and some help from OH and DD (a consultant psychiatrist) to remember things and compile a cogent and reasonably concise set of answers (all supported within medical notes). I heard back within a few weeks that I had been granted ESA and nothing further, at least for the moment seems to be expected of me.0

If you don't know how the system works, you will 'fail' the assessment, and if you don't know or can't cope with going to Tribunal, you will lose the benefit.
If you understand the system you can 'work it' so you 'pass' the assessment. Sadly people who are genuinely ill have to work it to pass, and some people who aren't genuinely ill also 'work it' and get the benefit.
With respect Owain, I disagree with you on this. I didn't know a thing about ESA medicals when I went for mine, I just went along and told the truth, didn't exaggerate anything and got awarded ESA directly after that. I am aware that I may be in the minority, but not everyone has to "work it" in order to pass the medical.0 -
Thank you for all replies so far, keep them coming, it's really encouraging to hear positive stories too, although it seems even the positive outcomes have had flaws in the process and you are right that should be addressed. I wonder how many people with what they feel is a good decision therefore don't request their reports and don't see if there are inaccuracies, I shall certainly be requesting mine whatever the outcome.
Sure there must be more stories out there so hope people will come forward
Re: Benefits and Work subscription - is it really worth it? I got their email guides and they did seem to me a bit about playing/manipulating the system, or maybe it's jsut the way I read them?
the problem with b&w is that they have their own agenda i.e scaring people into signing up and paying their £20
having said that the advice they give can be good, but most if not all of it is avaliable elsewhere for FREE
There will be positive stories about atos purely on the law of averages as they are currently converting 11,000"customers" a week from ib to esa,the problem is they should ALL be positive, appeals should be the exception and NOT the norm, until this happens then atos remain unfit for purpose0 -
ATOS are an excellent organisation tasked with the very difficult job of getting the benefits classes back into work.
ATOS take the lost , and give them a future, where those people can be freed from their benefit lifestyle and become productive members of society again.
tod your so naiveReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -

thats entirely the point you shouldnt be in the minority you should be one of an overwhelming majority0 -
First time round, they didn't have my ESA50 but got put in support group anyway. 2nd time round wasn't even sent an esa50 form but again was put in support group. Have requested esa85 about 4 times since may and still don't have it. Only thing that really bothered me in 2nd medical was the nurse doing it asking to see my self harm-i found that quite intrusive though i guess you open yourself up to these things when applying for benefits. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
