ATOS - good stories please?

the only thing i can say in defence of atos is that as far as the transfer from ib to esa is conserned they are only doing a capability for work assessment and not a full medical and the accent has changed onto what work you are capable of( either some, non or all)
but as has already been said most people come onto the internet to say how bad an experience they have had rarely when its been a good one,but judging by the number of successful appeals the system is NOT fit for purpose, perhaps our new atos rep on mse could comment on that general point?0 -

Thank you for all replies so far, keep them coming, it's really encouraging to hear positive stories too, although it seems even the positive outcomes have had flaws in the process and you are right that should be addressed. I wonder how many people with what they feel is a good decision therefore don't request their reports and don't see if there are inaccuracies, I shall certainly be requesting mine whatever the outcome.
Sure there must be more stories out there so hope people will come forward
Re: Benefits and Work subscription - is it really worth it? I got their email guides and they did seem to me a bit about playing/manipulating the system, or maybe it's jsut the way I read them?Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

The ESA50 isnt essential otherwise Mental Health patients would be failed even more than they currently are.
But its essential the assessor reads the form, or knows it was not filled in, or not returned.
Otherwise, they would not be able to ascertain why the form was empty/missing, and see if was related to a mental health problem.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
She said many times throughout her medical that she did not understand what the woman was saying.
I don't know about her but I was never offered a report, should inhave been then?
Yes the GMC have very clear rules for their doctors, and the helpline for the NMWC said they would expect the same from their staff.
Read guidance on the rule here, if you wish to complain to the GMC.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

Listening back over the assessment - there were questions asked - that if I'd followed up properly, would have lead to more probing in the area.
For example 'It says that you can walk over 100m' - yes - I put that on the form, so I agreed.
What I should have said is 'but doing so tires me out, and I can't do it often or reliably'
Yes, If i recall they have a target of averaging at 43 mins or so per assessment, so precious little time is often available.
But for something like this, they should make as much time as is needed, otherwise, they are not examining the evidence properly as they are required to do ethically.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

That's a shame then as they could be perpetuating the myths that everyones out to scam the system....Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

Don't you think that posts #12-15 have dragged the thread away from its intention and back into the usual complaints?0 -

In which case you can easily post up examples of what you are referring to then.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
