The context has to be what is a job worth in this global world we now live in.
Whilst the highest-earners in the UK has pay that continues to go up and up and up...
The cost of living is also lower in China0 -

It is not the majority of council workers who are overpaid, it is those at the top of the tree who should be held to account.
All council workers here are expected to take a cut in pay or be fired if they refuse. Plus there have been lots of redundancies.
What angers me most is that all of the older council houses in this area have had new roofs, kitchens, bathrooms and boilers in the last 2 years. Those of us who own our own homes and can't afford any of these things have to subsidise them through extortionate Council Taxes.
I have heard that some Councils are giving their tenants solar panels at God knows what cost (Most systems are around £25,000 to have fitted)
Council leaders, Police,Fire Brigade, and Hospital managers having their parties and award ceremonies paid for from the public purse.
Council Leaders etc having trips abroad at tax payers expense
Council leaders/councillors fiddling their expenses
Expensive gas guzzling cars like Daimlers and Jaguars for council use
The public paying for interpreters -If people want to live here then they should pay for interpreters themselves, learn English or go back where they came from.
I am sure there are many more instances of this.
So don't attack the people on the front line who do low paid thankless jobs, such as street cleaning, bin men, site agents, and the men and women in our forces whose basic salary is less tha £17,000 pa just to clean up other people's messes or to be gun fodder in someone else's war.
Bring on the strikes and let's see which of you bleat the loudest when they have no bin collections, kids off school and you actually have to look after them yourselves etcBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
