I'm sooooooo not happy this morning. Just checked my online banking for all the bills that have gone out today, and noticed that my mobile bill is £11.50. Last month I checked the bill after it was generated and discovered it was around that amount, rang tham and queried it and stated that I was assured it would be £7.50 from then onwards (alright, not the £7 I was offered, but close). So imagine my pleasure this morning when this month's bill is up again. Apparently it's because they charge £4 for basic internet. Well good for them, except I was given my contract including basic internet for £7 pcm, so adding on an additional charge for something that I was assured was included is not acceptable. Apparently there's no contact number for the complaints team, but I've got a postal address so I can write to them. I presume that is to put people off? If they have to go to the effort of writing, then perhaps they won't bother? Hmmmph! Off to write this letter up now.
Our refund for the credit on our old gas account has gone through. The leccy bill has been generated, so should see the refund by the end of the week. S'good, makes the OD-ness not quite so bad. I'm back to thinking we can't afford for me to go to the revision weekend in Sept. I'm also tentatively planning a trip to London sometime at the end of January next year.
Got a bathroom delivery date too - 17th May :j :jRule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Morning Caz, what a frustrating start to the day. I am working from home and can hear Mr Tilly on the phone complaining about shoddy service as well. Wouldn't life be easier if people just did the right thing first time round.
Hope your letter goes well.

It would, definitely. And you're right it's a poor start to the day/week. I rang my mum and ranted at her - now I'm planning meals and shopping lists for the next 5/6 weeks and am feeling a bit better. Going to hang some washing out in a mo - make the most of the warm sun before it disappears again tomorrow!Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

....... and its gone. The warm yellow ball has vanished behind the grey clouds of doom. Someone said that this is the wettest drought ever.
Hope your little one is feeling a bit more pinky and perky now.
PS. Who is Paul? And why does it sound like he had his gentlemen vegetables hanging out? :eek:MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0 -
Sun is still here for us
I am enjoying a lovely yellowy-orangey-pinky sunset
She's still not right. Fell asleep in my lap this afternoon. Eaten more today than she has the past few days, but her temp is still up
Paul is a film about an alien. Very funny. Has lots of references to other sci-fi films in it so extra funny if you're a sci-fi fan. There are definitely episodes of him with his "space-man balls" out. Can't speak for what's going on with Curly's house though...Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Had a bit of a spending day today. Went in town so got 2 week's worth of toiletries etc, plus cat meat and meat for us from the butcher, fish and eggs from the fishmonger, and fresh fruit and veg (although had to go to morrisons for those as I had no cash for the market). I also went into a couple of charity shops and got manwife 3 shirts for work at £2 each, Lumpy a jumper and a top, Giraffe a top, and my self a cardy and a top, but most importantly a pair of white smart trousers to wear to the weddings this year. Spend just under £20 but this is accounted for in our clothing budget so I'm happyRule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Giraffe is much better now - still not got her appetite back yet and still coughing up gunk, and has had a couple of nosebleeds the last couple of nights but no temperature and not randomly falling asleep all over the place any more
Lumpy is, I think, building up to a growth spurt - he's eating me out of house and home. He's only 5!! how does a 5 year old fit all that food inside him?! He's eating more than I am at the moment, and that's saying something... :rotfl: I'm going to have to be a bit more lenient with the food budget I think. I worked out when our next credit card statement is due and have placed an online order to be delivered the day afterwards. Glad that you can go back and add things to them that you've forgotten about, haha. As I said in Tilly's diary I keep going in my freezer to get things out and having "ooh!" moments when I discover something that I've put in there and then not updated my stock list so have forgotten about. Must make more of an effort to stop doing that - what's the point in having a list if I don't update it?!
Tank fund is due to increase further in the next couple of weeks - have got buyers for 3 fish so I need to purchase some heat packs and bag buddies so that I can post the fish to them next week. I am really looking forward to moving this tank on and really getting my teeth stuck into my new project
Today is a child-free day, so I must go now and get some reading done. I know which essay option I am writing about, I've read the textbook chapter, now I've got a journal article to read. Going to be fun. It's 37 pages long. 37!!  and that's not including any additional reading I may choose to do to help me frame my discussion about the topic... it's going to be a long day. I think I might stick an extra 20p in the pot and have a sweet tea to help me along :rotfl:
Need to do a review of where we are (it's the beginning of the month and I've missed the last month or two). But not right now. Tomorrow will be good for that. Hope everyone has a more fun day than the one I have planned!Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.
