Thanks Tilly. Feeling rather demotivated at the moment.

Rang up the bank and set up another savings pot and 2 SOs to move money about for clothing and gift pots. Still unsure about what other pots there might be and what the amounts would be so no more for the moment. Feel relieved to have those set up though - one less thing to think about.

Another payday has arrived, another small OP will go off to the bank on Monday. Wish we could make more, but we are overstretched as it is. Just have to keep reminding myself that even just doing this little bit each month is reducing our term by 7 years.

Today: meal planning, shopping list writing and putting in a butcher order. I've done a stock take on my freezer contents and found a bunch of stuff I'd forgotten was in there! I've enough food to last until Saturday without doing a shop (or at least, perhaps only sending the manwife to pick up some tomatoes and ham), so I'm going to do next week's shop early on Saturday. I have some vouchers for my local Morrison's - they got a refit and sent out money off vouchers to houses in the local estates. Last week I gave one to my mum and kept one for myself; this week we shall do the same, but not until Saturday as we both agreed we didn't need to shop yet.

I think I must've washed everything in my house this past week and hung it out on the line... so much so my washing line actually snapped! :rotfl: another lot of washing has just finished so I'm making the most of the last day of sunshine before it turns murky again.

Another OP went off to the bank this morning :)

Funeral will be on Friday, followed by the wake obviously, which will be at the same place my grandparents had their golden wedding celebration a few years back :(

Thanks Peonie :) hope you're feeling alright hun.

Having a blah day today. Losing the will to live with this OU module (it's the last one, so I'll finish it because it would be silly not to at this stage, but dear god I hate this one!), plus having a work-related wobble. Not helped by grief.

Feel like sacking it all in. I'd get drunk... if I wasn't teetotal. Tea isn't cutting it today.

:( Hope you start to feel better soon. Given your bereavement can you not lean on the OU for more time? It USED to be taken into consideration :o

Hi Dawn :) I could ask for more time, yes. The assignment is not due in until June 12th. However, it is half term between now and then and I was hoping to have it done before the kids finished school. Considering that today is their last day and I'm only half way through the reading that's not going to happen :rotfl: but I think I will get it in before the deadline. It's not so much a case of needing more time, as having lost sight of why I'm doing it.

Considering that my grandad was a big factor in my choices, and was a huge motivator for me... losing him has left me feeling that the whole thing is a bit pointless. I think, to be honest, it has given me food for thought in terms of what I want to do with my life - I have one thing that I could see myself doing with this degree and that's research. Specifically, maternity research. But to do that I'll have to do post grad... and frankly the idea of more study at this stage does not sit well with me! What I really want at this stage is to concentrate on my kids, and doulaing. So, I will finish the degree, because I may well need it later on, and I enjoy learning (most of the time!) and it would be silly to waste 5.5 years of work when the end is only 4.5 months away. But I won't be using it professionally any time soon.

On the money front, we renewed our Tax Credits, and upon getting the notice through I had to ring them up again and correct it because they'd got manwife's wage wrong (how I don't know, when I read it out to them!) so I've got to wait for another notice to come through now. However, I've just checked online and got another random small payment from them - I do like it when that happens! :D hopefully the notice won't take too long to come through. Makes me feel uneasy to not know how much we should be getting.

Have worked out my wobble, and sent the email I needed to send. Going to make a hot chocolate now and crack on with these readings.

Funeral was hard :( nice to see the extended family, cousins and second cousins etc, but not under those circumstances. The kidlets found it dull because they were the only children there - they're the first greatgrandchildren (plus my cousin's newborn, who is gorgeous, but boring as far as my kids are concerned lol), but they managed their boredom well.

Bank holiday weekend plans involve painting Lumpy's bedroom and spending time with friends/family. Going shopping with my mum this afternoon, and some friends are coming round on Monday.

It is hard. I lost 3 family members in just a few weeks between last December and the end of January. As you say, it is nice to see relatives you haven't seen for a while. I always think it is sad to only see them on those occasions, but families don't always live close together these days (we don't) and the pace of life is such that the time just flies by :(

I hope you have a great weekend.
