Applied for a Nationwide CC tonight. I got a 19.9% APR and a credit limit of £7000. It was agreed in principle and I completed the application in full. Put in for a balance transfer of £1200 from my Cap 1 card.

Properly accepted or not? Confused as there's conflicting info in this thread.

The indications are good. I'm still waiting to hear having applied last week - £5200 @ 9.9% - haven't heard anything except NW have set up the DD on my non-NW current account so assume all is ok..I haven't yet seen anyone on here who got the 'in principle' response and later declined..will let you know as Im expecting card in next day or so..

I do have a savings account with them. I wonder whether this helped or not?

Did you get any emails at all through the process?

I never got any emails during the "process" when I applied last week, My Balance transfer was completed in six days form application.

As long as the details you gave on your application are correct you will receive your card.

They are. Never inaccurate when making an application.

I only wondered because I thought I'd get an application acknowledgement email?

You could have a £250k in a savings account but it won't make no difference to your application.
It's a big myth that many people think having savings accounts help them with credit products when it doesn't.

No, it is not a myth.

Having savings accounts can help when applying for credit products, provided they are with the same organisation. Other banks can't see what savings you have elsewhere.

What I am trying to say is it's a big myth that people think just because they have savings they automatically qualify for credit products with that bank etc.

What I am saying is it will still come down to your credit report whatever way you look at it, the bank won't give a customer with 5 late payments a credit card just because he's got say £30k in a savings account.
    It doesn't work like that.

My card arrived this morning, as per soft search quotation - 9.9% and £5,200 limit..
