Ok it's annoying but it is a free benefit that they provide.

Anything is better than nothing - especially when it's free.

Any guesses as how likely a repeat of xmas "double up" promo on clubcard vouchers will be now? Would be great to turn my £20 into £40 as using it as money off a new tv.

Presumably by "most popular rewards" they mean most popular (i.e. cheapest) for Tesco?

It's not free - it's factored in to all prices across the board. This is equivalent to a universal 1% price rise.

I really hope that the price reductions are decent and not just on luxury goods...eg I'd much rather have a cheaper bog standard loaf of brown bread reduced in price than a luxury (to me) foccacia.

Clubcard rewards have been our only way of having a break in the past, whether that be a caravan break or a meal out and I'm sorry that double points are ending. However, 4x on pizza express again is great! :D I just hope that they don't reduce it any further in the coming months..

I don't use Tesco for my 'big' shops, so I already get a good chunk of my points from petrol (on my Tesco credit card), green bag reusing, and points boosting vouchers. So I'm not too bothered, and rather glad of the increase to 4x value for Pizza Express and Strada.

I suspect its getting absolutely hammered by Asda's 10% cheaper guarantee - now is not the economic climate to be seen as complacently more expensive than your major rival. Once I discovered mysupermarket and realised that Asda was roughly 10% cheaper, Tesco got the boot (albeit that cheekily I still use a Tesco credit card so gather Tesco points on my Asda shopping!). £5 or £6 a week in grocery savings dwarfs anything I can save on clubcard points.

Personally, I'm pleased to be getting the 4x multiplier back - makes it seem much more worthwhile changing in for rewards (in fact, I've only done about a tenner since it became 3x, so have plenty to do at 4x again ;)) - and I generally use them for pizza express etc anyway.

I guess, ultimately, whether I'm better off overall or not will depend on just *how much* they slash their prices. Suffice to say I won't be holding my breath :)
