I posted this on another thread earlier
Just found this

Quite old but most things still going on today.
A couple of things you may want to write down.
Dtd has to be given under Section 14 of the Trade Descriptions Act.
By displaying the fact they operate a dtd policy they are obliged by law to give it.
The Consumer Protection Act 1987 says it is a criminal offence for a trader to display misleading price indications. If prosecuted, a company can face a maximum fine of £5,000 for each individual offence
This could be quoted if they try and say the barcodes are different or similar.
By quoting any of the above you could result in putting yourself on the radar or possibly being banned so only use in extreme circumstances.
NO NO NO.............. please dont do it!!!!!!!! it might be pulled completely!!!! please dont do this!!!!!0 -

I quite agree.

Please dont do this, Tesco might decide to take DTD out of it's policy completely..0 -
I'd agree it's best to stay under the radar as much as possible.
No other store offers DTD, which if you receive it, is rather generous .
If you get it, great. If not, either go for a refund, or, contact head office.
I'd far rather the policy continued, than be stopped if problems are raised too often. Would be a very easy way, for HO to retain some of their profit, if this policy was axed. The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -

It's the Finest Montepulciano D'Abruzzo at £8.29. If it's not in the fridges then try in the wine section (Italian Red)
I can't find it in the Meal Deal online so it's possible that it won't be around for much longer though...0 -
LMAO some of you are intent on shooting yourselves in the foot with this one! Tesco do not have to give DTD, it is their own policy and is not required by law. If the policy starts causing them too many problems they will simply pull the policy...end of.
Start complaining to trading standards and the like and all you will do is screw things up for yourself and everyone else who gets overcharged and claims DTD.
Its the fact Tesco are inept at so many things that give us all these opportunities to begin with. Treat it as a game. You win some you lose some.0 -
