On the receipt the asterix is against vatable items on the shelf edge label it is to show staff which items are discontinued.

yes i meant the receipt. not the sel. didnt know the sels had them to be honest.

*on the SEL does mean discontinued... and the * you were talking about is well a different*.

Ooh yes always worth checking the prices of any items with an asterix on the SEL or an SEL with 'RTC' on.

Found my first jewel airfreshener today, just one lonely one left.

Hi from a Newbie, I just wanted to pop by and say a big thank you to all those who post with bargains I popped into my local extra the other day and couldn't find a thing but popped into the smaller local one today and got the veggie crisps and iron cloths for 1p each and was thrilled with my first real bargains :-) although I was disappointed to find that our smaller one have removed their scanner the spoilsports lol. I will still keep my eyes out and try to post anything I find but not sure I'll be helping you out much sorry.

The lad who was stocking up some stain fresh told me that this was the last lot, as it was being discontinued. He said 'anything with the asterisk on is being discontinued' - this was in Tesco
