  • Hi - as a long time lurker I was just wondering if anyone thought it may be beneficial to have a dedicated Tesco only board?

It's just that whenever I have been browsing in the last 6 months or so Tesco seems to be extremely popular.

I really don't know how people have so much time to spend in Tesco and why they are so obsessed with it. I have never found any of the bargains talked about on these boards and personally is probably the only supermarket that I choose not to go to.

I think it would be better if there was a board entitled "Everything Tesco" where Tesco fans could congregate.
  • Ha ha it's well said that there's no scanner here :D - popped in yesterday at around 3.30 and found the 1p oust iron cleaners (whole clip strip left), loads of 1p glennans veg crisps (whole clip strip left), 50p disney parachute toys (4 left), spontex scourers (sorry took the last ones) and green tea (sorry took last ones)
Happy hunting to all the locals toorrow
Tried again today. Only found the Oust iron cleaners. No crisps though (where were they?). Given there is no scanner, how do you find so many mis-prices?

You are on one of them:) what more do you want;) Have a look around and you will find other Tesco threads. Gone but not forgotten?

Completely off topic but as to principle are you uncertain? Sorry for the esoteric joke, hope somebody else gets it

I'm lucky enough to have a working scanner at my local so I knew what I was looking for ;) Also, check out the other Tesco threads on the gone but not forgotten board, they are a fount of good info with pics and barcodes - although as Cosmic says, you have to wade through the general chat :D. If in doubt, if it's a good deal then ask at customer services for a price check, if it's a potential 1p find, take it to the self scan checkouts and if it comes up more press the remove item button and ask the SA to take it off the screen (changed my mind, it's the wrong one, hadn't realised the price etc). If you are successful with your test items, put your shopping in the car and go back and buy more if you want.
    HTH, happy shopping

Oh, and the veg crisps were on clip strips towards the back of the store in pretty random aisles. they are quite a small packet (think packet of nuts size) and the SEL was 69p white foil packet with veggies on the front - there were several strips in different places. Hope you find some

You wont find the bargains if you don't go in the shop :)

While away, I twice found the 'better than half-price' offer on Charles de Raven champagne SEL @ £10, rather than the correct £13.
    A very decent champagne @ £7, donc.

    Salut!

Went in search of 1p items thismorning and thought I would share my finds. Got some rentokil advanced fly trap window sticker packs (thanks to the previous person who posted a picture), some andrex on the go, dorman spicy nut satay mix (BB 29th Dec 11) some jewel air fresheners, previously posted that fresh linen and tropical vanilla worked but bought some pink ones and purple ones and they also went through at 1p. Someone mentioned smints and in my store there were 3 different packs, tried them all and only one went through at 1p it was the black small box which says xtra strong mint BC 8419 7405, the pink pack flavoured raspberry and lemon and the larger smint packs went through at correct price. Many thanks to everyone for sharing their finds.
