Good post Mumbles. I was just wondering what the score is if you try to claim DTD on more than one of an item. Will they try and only pay out on one ?

I'm sure they would try, if you let them.

Put lots of tiny cheap items to bulk out your shop (ibuprofen, paracetamol, mushy peas, etc).

Depends if it is two big dtd, they would probably ask why you didnt notice it, two smallish ones, should be fine. At the end of the day it is their mistake and if they get a bit trouty, nicely but firmly point that out. Good luck.

Nearly had a heart attack when I used ss and it didn't recognise weight of iron cleaners and assistance required came flashing up! so chucked a few coins on and hey presto, let me do the other one where I did same and managed to get through. Many thanks

Hi all. I have been a member for a while here but for the last few years I have mainly found myself on, ahem, HUKD - sorry to bring that sometimes-hated name up. I am getting fed up of the constant bickering, inane posts and general immaturity - they often forget the purpose of the site! So I find myself back here and I've been watching this thread for the last few days with great interest. I once found a 1p in my local express a few years back (the SEL was actually 1p - does that ever happen?) but I've never managed to find another. Until today. I wanted to utiliise my new found knowledge at W@4d Extra (is that too cryptic?) and found the Harry Hill salted peanuts down the crisp aisle on a clip strip - I left about 4 packs.

Question: I was looking at the yellow SELs and their dates, which state that the offer expires at xxx. So how come when a customer presents a misprice to Customer Services they can't just claim it's an outdated price to stop people getting DTD?

Out of date SEL - it is not up to the customer to look at the date of the offer (plus it is often written that small, you cant see it) - the SEL on display represents the selling price to the customer, if they cant get their SELs in date, that is their problem! DTD was introduced as an incentive to the customer to report being overcharged to Tesco directly rather than to Trading Standards. At the time Tesco were getting their knuckles wrapped about so many complaints.

Evening all. Firstly I would like to say a big thankyou to those of you who find glitches and post them here. Today I managed to get a couple of the iron cleaning pads....have to say though I'm not very impressed. Tried them tonight and doubt they'd even shift butter! Ah well. Rather pay 1p to find that out instead of £2!

I tried to find the sponges but couldn't. Might anyone have a picture of them that they wouldn't mind posting?

Check out the dates on your mince pies n Christmas cakes from Tesco. All the cakes I checked were BB Jan 2012 and the mini mince pies 12 were BB 31 Dec

    Car Insurance Carver! Cashback Cashier
I went into my local Tesco today but didn't see any of the bargains everyone has been talking about, however as I was walking from the till and checking my receipt, I noticed they added an item to my bill, some conference pears. I don't like pears, so never would have bought them. It's probably down to the cashier pressing the wrong button, as I did buy some mushrooms and bananas.

Anyway, upon spotting the mistake of being overcharged by 37p, I went to CS and pointed it out, and started showing some of my shopping to indicate there were no pears, and she then gave me the 37p back. I then pointed out the DTD policy (I knew this might be a grey area, seeing as it's a general overcharge, rather than an item being the wrong price), and she then went to check with the manager. She came back to say that they only give DTD if I had actually bought something, rather than something being accidently put on my shopping bill, so I accepted the answer.

I have used the tesco comments section on my receipt to inform them of my experience in the store. Wonder if I'll hear anything back.

Just thought I'd warn everyone else to watch out for those invisible conference pears that suddenly appear in your shopping, lol.
