spoke to bank today and they said they have to wait 120 days before paying money back this is to give the company time to deliver or refund roll on january 2012
not according to the bank i spoke to, you've got 120 in which to make a claim they said. You can make a claim if your goods haven't arrived within 13 days, I am making a visa debit chargeback claimand they told me today they would be crediting the amount back to my account. I ordered the fire on 9/10/11, goods haven't arrived therefore I can make a claim. Mkae your claim now, you will be too late if you wait 120 days. good luck:o0 -
re check with bank as it should only be 15 days from date of purchase. I'm with LLoyds and i had my money back within a week of contacting them.
don't know if you got my last post but please claim now, 120 days is the longest time in which you can claim, it will be too late after then. 14 days and you can make a claim, its a reasonable time to wait for the goods (even though they didn't exist). I have spoken to my bank today and they are crediting me account with the amount i paid. I ordered a fire on 9th October 2011, found out the next day they were a fraudulent company. Ring your bank again0 -

i paid on 9th October with Visa Debit, have found out today that they are going to re-credit my account, I had to make a claim with the visa chargeback by ringing my bank. Had to wait until 12 days after the original order in case they sent it (yeah right!) good luck:)0 -

Different company, based in Deeside North wales, also known as fireplacemegastore.co.uk.
Been around a long time, have had some bad reviews, but all I can say is that very rarely do you hear anyone posting good reviews of a comany. General gist of what I can find out, is that deliveries and ordering not real problem as Plumb centre deliver for them, but any returns and you take them back to your local plumb centre branch. Do you want to do this? Go to your nearest fireplace shop, see what they can offer. If you want same service you would get from internet,i.e ordering, supply only, they may make you a deal. If you want them to fit it and then have to take on any problems you may have, pay the price they quote.
At the end of the day, do you want to be having to deal with the manufacturer if you have a dented trim, or broken ceramics personally? If so buy off the internet. If you want to buy and let everyone else take on the burden, buy from a shop.I can assure you very rarly do you get a fire delivered via carriers, which does not have something broken inside the box. Manufacturers do not box them up to be shunted around everywhere, they deliver direct to the retailer only. More and more Manufacturers now are also not dealing with complaints from internet purchases as it costs them more as general public have a habit of breaking things and then saying they were broken on delivery, or 3rd party carriers have thrown them around. One manufacturer told me that 84% of queries from internet purchases were due to incorrect installation, user error or not to the customers aspirations ( i.e customer doesn't like it and wants it taken out). They have started voiding warranties for internet purchases, unless official paperwork is suppled and in the case of gas, that the fire has been installed by a gas safe engineer with the appropriate registration. Not all Gassafe engineers are acredited to work on fires, that costs more. They will check all the above out before sending engineers out or parts. It costs them a fortune each time they send someone out, but they cannot stop internet guys buying the products under EU legislation of restrictive trade.
Most internet buyers, seem to go into a shop first anyway, so you can ''touch/feel'' the product and ask all the questions, then go away and buy from rogues like these. Have a little courtesy and ask them will they do a like for like deal, if they can they will , if not, you have gave them the opportunity. A like for like deal will be you ringing the manufacturer for any broken parts too, but it takes a damn site longer to shut down a shop, than shut down a website. They are also usually known in the town they have their shop and you will findout were they have moved to. This is normally only in extreme cases as they are family owned businesses been around for years
I have it everyday in my shop. People come in with tape measures and when approached, tell my staff to go away, just measuring up so they can buy online ! Either that, or they ask loads of questions then say thankyou I am not buying off you I am buying off the internet because they are £50 cheaper. You don't seem to take into account, we have had to buy the displays from manufacturers, they don't give them for free anymore !
Give us small guys a chance ! We are not out to do you, we have been around longer than the websites and most if not all have a better reputation too , as well as a better service !0 -
very sorry for the mistake, but I was trying to find out if Home firesides were starting up under another name. Once again many apologies:)0

Beth, no need to apologise, it is better asking than getting stung again.
As I said they have good/bad reviews, difficult really as some seem to be a bit pointless in their complaint. The only thing I picked up on was that returns had to go back to plumb centre and if you havent been into one of them, you don't really want to. They are usually full of oik's standing around waiting for a length of 22 mm copper pipe smelling slightly of meat and potato pies ! lol:eek:0 -

I can guarantee he will open up again. Just watch out for any websites selling fires in the west Yorkshire area. This is the 4th time he has gone bust/in trouble0 -
