Hi there i too have beem scamed by homefiresides placed the order on the 31/08/11 thankfully i payed by credit card. I have phoned trading standards in Halifax maybe if more people phone and complain they might be able to do something. I am really hacked off that the website is still up and running and was considering contacting watchdog?

Found out to day that i have also been ripped off ordered fire on 17th September was expecting delivery last week tried phoning and e-mail no response at all not even answer phone Gutted!Sent letter to bank to day asking them to initiate charge back paid on visa debit is there any hope of refund? How these scum bags can continue to trade and steal peoples money is beyond me.

I purchased a fire from this website by debit card, three weeks ago, still no delivery, have emailed, phoned, no responses to email, no reply to telephone calls. Not sure if I can get my money back through my bank, have reported to West Yorkshire Police, (the guy lives in holmfirth) and spoken to his accountants who have now changed his registered office from their office to his home address! Also spoken to Consumer Direct. This man is a huge fraudster and should not be allowed to trade. Its unbelievable that his website is still in operation for more people to lose their money.

Asked my bank last week for the money back on the visa cashback scheme...it went into my account today. Hope it's all ok!! You should all do the same thing if you've paid by visa debit. But, does anyone know how to stop the website..surely there's a legal way somehow.

Ha ha...I couldn't reach his head...he's probably a 6ft 4" giant! I'm sure there are more subtle and satisfying ways or retribution.

I placed an order with Home Firesides on the 5th September and can't belive what I'm reading on this forum, I really could cry. This is the second time this has happened to me in a month. The first time was buying a kitchen through 'Simply Kitchens' where we lost a load of money on complete tat and now this!! I can't understand how this can happen, where is the consumers protection? In these desparate times we are looking for online bargains, well not anymore I've been burnt once too often. I completely give up and I believe Trading Standards to be a complete waste of time after my dealings with them on the kitchen, they don't have the powers to fight these rougues. I am gutted and a damn sight poorer!!
