great day not a good day. Have you read the Secret? All about the law of attraction. Think good positive things and you will attract good postive things. I think the film Eat Pray Love is based on it. Also check out the Matrix thread on the DF wannabee diaries.

  • Hi Moo, I did find the Matrix thread and started reading, have subscribed but I think it will take a whole evening and a bottle of wine to read the complete thread :) that shouldn't be too taxing I wouldn't have thought, now wondering how much wine is in the cupboard already ????

I have never read the secret but should be getting my replacement Kindle today, so will have a little look and see if that is on there, hopefully it will be free.

The big news though so far is that today, the 20th September is looking dangerously like being my first NSD in living memory, and that is definately a get the bunting out moment!

Oh and I am having a good day at work, but that is just an added bonus because I have to be here :)

  • On a more serious note....

We have 2 weeks before we move home, and although I would dearly love to remove all the food from the house and run like crazy, would proabably save me and DS from buying anything except bread and milk till christmas but not sure that is on really as I would like to try and make the relationship work.

Bathroom stuff is easier, as I don't really like lynx on me :rotfl:and sneakily I will only be leaving just enough loo roll to make it look like he has enough for a short while.

So my question is what would you agree are the essentials for a good store cupboard basis, please bear in mind while I can cook and am actually quite good (well its edible). Think DS would live on pasta, jacket potato, and roast dinner if that helps any,

Many many many thanks for everything that you have all helped with so far xxx

Get yourself over to the Matrix and post the question about storecupboard basics, loads has been discussed about this. It depends really on how much you cook from scratch, what you like to eat I suppose. Lots of people rave about Approved Foods, havent worked it out yet. How about going on Old Style board and posting the question I am sure you will get lots of ideas. My storecupboard is always full of rice( short/long/basmati), pasta(various), lentils (various), flour(various), sugar, syrup, treacle, porridge oats, tinned tomatoes, ooo, will have to go and look now I am sure that there is loads more

  • oh and my day just gets better, my hair straightners packed up, not a great problem in the grand scheme of things, except I generally end up looking like a wet spaniel if I don't use them, so my hair has been tied up all day.

On the off chance that they might be able to do something took them into the workshop at work today hoping, but not really expecting that they would, be able to fix them, and guess what they work now.

I really do feel muchos positivos about life at the moment x

I always felt once i wrote it all down, it didnt feel so bad!

do you know the interest rates on all of the debt as this might make a difference to the order of which you should pay off first? Also as you only need to pay £100 towards your OD and the fact that its 0%, why pay more? (CSA £20!!!! thats bonkers!!!) the extra might be better thrown against the higher interest cards? anyway - great step forward and love the fact the boss bought the hot choci!! x

Good luck with your money saving journey. Just wanted to add that I agree with LianneH that you should be throwing any extra money at the highest interest debts first and not paying extra towards a 0% debt.

You are sounding very positive about your current situation, I have subscribed to your diary and will be lurking, not in a bad way - more in a everyone else said what I wanted to say before me way! :)
  • Now there is soemthing that I hadn't noticed what a numpty, would be far better paying the evil egg card than the relatively friendly Barclays OD...note to self quick kick up the rear end, wakey wakey Freshair. Change bank bits when I get home,

That is what having a diary is all about, people spot the blinding obvious when you cant see the wood for the trees.
