One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

I know its hard but I cant help but think despite the years your friends freind doesnt deserve anymore of her time. What an appalling way to treat someone - she knows that her (ex) friend is in a quandry over this and instead of dealing with it with some form of a spine, she has refused point blank. Maybe its just a case that she got bored/felt that the friendship had run its course and couldnt say it (particularly if the person had been reliable and consistant throughout the years). She likely knows she's out of order/spineless/fickle and would rather just pretend to herself thats not the case. If your friend had gone to see her its likely she would have ended up either a) being completely ignored or b) the other women would have come up with a list of imagined slights/issues to justify her behavior. Thats only my opinion obviously, I dont know either of them but I am got a fair understanding of female freindship.
