Hi all
Its been a while since i updated and ive fallen off the Overpayment wagon a little bit since i last posted although i have kept up my £50 regular OP.
So im off to Ibiza for 3 days tomorrow to get a little bit of sun so im looking forward to that! Time to update the signiture too as August's holidays have been Wales (we went camping for a few days) and Ibiza!
In an attempt to get back on the OP wagon, ive rang up the Mortgage company and todays balance is approx £123,370 - fingers crossed for £120k by the end of the year although im aiming for £121k.
Anyway back to the grindstone - i have a case to pack!£2 Savers Club #156!

The holidays are a new years resolution that we will go away every month. Tbh none of them have been expensive so very mse!Ibiza was absolutely gorgeous. The sunsets were amazing - I only went for 3 days but could easily have stayed longer
So not much to update today. Account rounding of 2.76 so op to the mortgage. We are going camping to Derbyshire this weekend so I've got the bag to pack in a min and the food to get ready. I'm having my hair cut and coloured this afternoon which is desperately needed to I can't wait!!!
I went to the cinema last night with my friend which was nice and I'm hoping it cheered her up a little. It's horrid to see her looking so lost

Whereabouts in Derbyshire are you? I actually live in Derby but we try to get out and about in Derbyshire as you can end up missing a lot of it with it being so close by!
Im feeling so much happier now ive had my hair cut and coloured!OH wasnt too impressed with the curls that i had put in as he likes it straight, but he liked it once id straightened it so thats good
The weekend camping was a success - we went to Flagg and had a lovely time! The new tent went up and came down easily....it is massive for the 2 of us - 8m long and 3m wide! lol! We need space!!We managed to get a visit to Peak cavern in and a walk along mam tor and over to Edale too which was fab as the weather was great!
Today has been a busy day with volunteering and i have an interview on Thursday so need to get ready and prepared for that soon which is scary!!
No overpayments this week other than the standard £50 for the month but £7 Quidco has gone into the holiday pot which is now at £727 and a camera lens on Gumtree has been sold this weekend too which adds another £20 to the pot!
Hope everyone had a good weekend!£2 Savers Club #156!

Wow its been a while since i updated!! I didnt realise it was so long!!
Well i have a few updates. I am due to return to work after over a year off recovering from an injury to my back, so that is scary and exciting all in one!! Ive started doing some volunteer work which is going really well and i have also been advised that there might be a position coming available at the place where i volunteer as the lady might not be coming back from maternity leave!
I have enrolled on a course which i started this week, so in 12 months time i will have my Level 4 certificate for the Housing Profession with the Chartered Institute of Housing
Today i am painting the bedroom as it is in desperate need of sprucing up, which is taking me a while as im still a bit slow getting about at times but im taking my time! I quite enjoy the peace and quiet whilst getting on with it!
Re the mortgage OP - its just been the standard £50, i havent been doing any account rounding for a while as i am watching the pennies and dont have any to pass over the mortgage at the min. Hopefully that will change when i go back to work. Good news though that fingers crossed i am still on target to achieve £120,000 by the end of the year on the outstanding mortgage balance.
Well, i guess back to the grindstone and to finish the painting. Im saving the wallpapering for when i get get OH and mum to help me. Maybe this weekend? Who knows!!£2 Savers Club #156!

Hi all
So today im chilling at home - i am supposed to be in the process of decorating which is a long winded process right now as i cant decide how i want to decorate the lounge. Everything seems to be not quite right! argh!
The bedroom is looking good - the paint is on the walls, although might need one more coat, and then just the wallpaper to put up which should be tomorrow if i can convince mum to come and help on her day off!
Ive been looking at the countdown to our holiday in Florida this year - less than 7 weeks to go! omg!! The time is going so fast now and i cant quite believe it! Itll be time to get our holiday money soon!!!
Monsoon has finally confirmed my cashback through Quidco this weekend so thats another £20 due to come in the next payback so that'll go to the holiday spending pot!
Ive done some mystery shopping this week so thats another £30 to come when it finally arrives too so that will go straight to the OP pot.
Is anyone else excited to see their mortgage statement in January?!£2 Savers Club #156!

A busy week this week which has resulted in the bedroom being done - just 1 coat of paint left to do
And good news on the fact that i will be returning to full time work next week!!! Im pretty nervous as this will be the first time i have been in full time work in well over a year! But im excited about it too and am looking forward to going back out there, although i have no idea how i will find the time to do all the bits around the house now! lol
This week has seen a £11.47 OP to the mortgage as i have a little bit of spare cash and £25 Quidco which has gone to the spending money pot! hooray!
I kinda feel like im talking to myself on here and have no idea if anyone reads this thread but its a little therapeutic for me! No doubt that i will be posting on here even more once i start back to work!!
So today I also started my Xmas shopping.:eek: For me, this is unheard of , as although i am organised when it comes to things like that, and i do like to be prepared, ive never started at the beginning of October before! .....Actually now i think about it, i did actually buy OH something in September that i had forgotten about! Oh no!!!
But, i guess on a positive note, i can write down the number of gifts on here to remind myself that i have bought them so that i dont forget come December! LOL. So far, OH has 2 pressies and mum has 1 which i bought today. OH wont be getting anything too expensive for Xmas as its his 30th in November whilst we are on holiday so i will get him something nice for that. FIL has a nice bottle of whiskey that we bought whilst in Scotland so we will give him that. Not sure what to get for MIL +SD at this point, although am tempted to let OH worry about it and i will worry about my family!
Anyone else started their Xmas shopping or am i the only loon here?!:rotfl:£2 Savers Club #156!

Just letting you know that you have at least one reader! I love reading everyone's diaries as they are so inspiring. The husband is the mortgage owner in our house, I sold mine to move in with him and seeing as we're planning of buying somewhere else soonish theres no point paying to get me added to this mortgage. I have instructed him in the MSE ways though and got him to set up an overpayment schedule.
Beforehand,he would just spend the excess, this way it goes out his account so it's not 'there' tempting him to spend it. By current estimates, we've got about 3 years until we are MF.
How is your friend getting on??? I just can't imagine what she is going through.0
