  • Morning all!

Jenjade - sorry to be so blunt, but what your manager is doing is completely illegal. Not to mention she's talking bullcocks about the unable to change duties without occupational health bit. It sounds to me like she's following "normal" council sickness procedures and either isn't aware that different rules apply to pregnant women or is ignoring the different rules because having you off sick/on reduced duties is going to make her life difficult. If I were you I would bypass her completely and go to your HR department first thing Monday morning and report her. They will be on your side because they won't like the idea of a large lawsuit as a result of her negligence! Whatever you do, I think you SERIOUSLY need to think about whether to go back to work on Monday. At the end of the day, your job is affecting your health and that is not good. Really am sorry to be so blunt, but I'm worried about you!

As for the heartburn, when you go to the doctors to get signed off, ask for some tablets (ranitidine I think its called) - they REALLY do work. Three days ago I was like you, couldn't sleep or eat or drink because of the heartburn but now its gone. I even had spicy steak washed down with fresh orange juice for tea last night!

Oh, and SIT DOWN AND REST WOMAN!!! Lol :D

Mancbird - fingers crossed you don't go before 5th!! Or at least if you do fingers crossed they let you out quickly! At least then you can kill two birds with one stone and register bubs at the same time hehe :D

Well, I'm still here, still pregnant and not showing any signs of popping early. DH managed to get me to sit down and stay put yesterday but only because he got the belt sander out and started sanding the old gloss paint off downstairs so I took refuge upstairs! DS is streaming with cold/cough thing so I'm avoiding him (in the nicest possible way) in the hope I don't catch it!

I think bubs head has engaged though because the pain in my pelvis has eased dramatically this past couple of days. Hips are still very sore, but I'm having to sit down and rest because I'm tired rather than because I'm in pain which is a definite improvement!

Anyway, off to stick the kettle on and wake DH up - he's laying self levelling compound this morning. I did comment that its the only thing he'll be laying for a while :rotfl:

Morning. Jen I hope it gets easier for you in work, you're suffering enough as it is.... It's not nice, but I think Kira's given some good advice- you don't sound as if you can do much longer? Definitely contact your HR department, you should be desked at this stage.

I'm not too bad- my legs and pelvic area are sore, and it's starting from first thing in the day now.... I'm permanantly tired!

Ranitidine- correct.... I've just taken one. One at the start and one at the end of the day- they really do work,

  • Morning, well I am trying to finish all my self employed work so I can take *maternity leave* lol. Left my employed job months ago so feeling a bit down that I'm still going when most are chilling out by now. Baby brain is dragging it out abysmally too.

Just went to play with my wedding ring and found I've swelled up so much recently that I couldn't get the bu**er off! Finally managed to ease it off and it's left a lovely welt in my finger. Don't think it will be going back on until after the birth somehow. My engagement ring, which is smaller, has been off since 15 weeks lol.

Sorry to hear so many peeps are in so much pain. I've been having painful outside thighs in bed (under bum area) and a cracking pain in my pelvis when I try and turn over in bed. God it feels like I'm splitting in two sometimes :-( So no good comfortable sleep for me for the next month. Labour vibes to the over-dueys and I do hope Elmo and Missy have popped by now :-D

Morning all, or should I say afternoon  I've slept for nearly 12 hours, will regret it later though, my back is starting to twinge already! I've had such a relaxing weekend, it's been great, but now I've a mountain of housework to do, luckily OH is working late, so as soon as he goes to work I'll get started :(
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.

Haaa you sure you're ready?? :rotfl:
This week I've been in mental nutcase nesting mode.I've cleaned/ organised EVERY inch of my daughters room, cleared out the wardrobes, even hoovered under the damn things.Cleaned all our bedroom out, cleared wardrobe and one of the sets of drawers to make room for bumps things.Scrubbed the blinkin bathroom from top to bottom, sorted sons wardobe/drawers out, spring cleaned the living room(I HOOVERED the alcoves !!!!!!! :p)I've emptied the playroom out and organised every bit of the chests/cupboards(3 bags of rubbish!),WAXED all the ground floor wooden floors, emptied and cleaned the fridge and defrosted the freezer!!Cleaned out the bunny, the guinea pig,the hamster...cooked fresh meals from scratch every night PLUS made extra for hot lunches for DH every day.Ummm I've even emptied the bloody junk drawer in the kitchen, done a big food shop, done the homework with the kids/signed reading records every day..basically EVERY DAMN THING IN THE WHOLE HOUSE ALL WEEK!!(And breatheeeee)
Hubby has been bemused getting home to Mrs Mary Poppins with a clean house, dinner in oven, kids fed, bathed and snuggled waiting for him...And the thing is I ENJOYED my brief spell as a domestic godess!! Am even planning a repeat from tomorrow for the week
So this morning I thought I'd let him have a lie in..kept the loon bag kids quiet from 4am when DS woke up and 7 when the girls surfaced till they woke him at 9.30am.(Is anyone still awake reading this btw?? :rotfl:)
Then I took myself to the bathroom for a soak as pelvis is super sore atm.I had various kidlets coming upstairs to build lego/"mumm what's this word",help on DS etc whilst I was in the bath(grr!!) and arrived downstairs 30 mins later to find three boxes of cereal and milk out, coco pops all over floor/sides,bowls in sink, litter trays not touched, wet washing I asked him to hang out still in basket on side keeping coco pops company.Curtains drawn,paper/crayons/barbies EVERYWHERE on playroom table/floor,kids not dressed, floor covered in dog biscuits from our helpful 5 year old trying to give the doggie her breakfast..blah blah blah!!And hubby? He was laid out on the sofa, feet up,oblivious to the chaos watching bloody batman!!!!!:mad:
So I burst into tears, screamed at him lots(and lots) and now feel totally rubbish!!!!So bad it's funny! :rotfl:
