hey all i am in loads of pain today too. ;-(

had garlic dough balls and chicken to eat and the heartburn is really bad too

does anyone know what the rule is about sick leave trigger your mat leave? i am not due until the 18th Dec and my mat leave starts on the 5th Dec before that i am on annual leave from the 14th November so it would be over a month before my due date if i was off sick
:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart :( Proven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j
  • Jenjade, at my work place if you are off sick anytime in the last 4 weeks then that automatically triggers maternity leave. Not sure if that is a rule or just the policy at my place which is council run library.

I am due on the 3rd of Nov and have been signed off until the 1st of Oct due to blood pressure probs. I will start my maternity officially from the 2nd.
  • my company maternity policy is similar to boat girls, but im going on the 5th october, with this friday being my last day due to holidays :j:j

is anyone else loaded with the cold? i am and i hate it at the best of times. am debating to induldge in a bath or a hot shower and then get into bed for a marathon dvd session.
  • i work for the council too and its if your on sick the 4 weeks before maternity they kick start it early.

jenjade have you not got a tense machine you can use for your back hun. x
now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j

Toerags 2 doors down and are f-ing and blinding in the garden over their extremely loud music... can you tell the parents are away *sigh*

I called the police since this usually goes on until well after midnight and I don't need my 3 listening to that and they are at the back of the house so close to it :( later on the music gets so loud that my walls and floor shake... not to mention my friend next door to them who has 3 little ones as well who have no chance whatsoever of sleeping :(

I've already been and told them to watch the language because there are little kids all around trying to sleep who don't need the noise or the language

Anyway police were no help, said as they're in their own garden there is nothing they can do! They gave me the number for environmental health though and said leave a message and someone will ring me back.

Unfortunately OH is not here or I'd ask him to go give them what for. No one argues with him. lol. He is a very peaceful person with the build of Shrek :rotfl:

Ah well. What's the betting we don't get a phone call until next week!

Ladies, do any of you know how redundancy and maternity pay works? My work are making redundancies and I thought my job was safe but they need to get rid of more people so it may be not so safe now!!! I don't plan to go back to work after but won't be telling them that!! What point would I need them to keep me on till to still qualify for maternity pay? they give a really good package with 3 months full pay then SMP for the rest so can't really afford to lose it!!! They don't know I'm PG yet as I'm only 9 weeks(ish). Its putting a real dampner on things as I've been looking forward to telling people after the scan (in 2 weeks) but now we won't be able to as we don't want work to know till we have a better idea what's going on. Can't even tell family as they'll probably mention something on Facebook and then work would find out due to having workmates as friends on there!!

If your employer offers more than the standard 6 weeks @ 90% and then the rest at SMP Lisa, a lot of the time you can't just not go back, or you need to pay some of your maternity back, not sure what your company policy would be though.
