I went to Next Clearance and bought a few bits of maternity clothing....really pleased with what I got, but so exhausted now.... Think sleep will be very soon, quite sore now! Doesn't sound as if I'm as bad as either jenjade or skintcatt- I had thrombocytopenia before, stress related, and couldn't move really at all, as it hurt so badly. Acupuncture was suggested, and actually really worked- would it be worth a try?0

We have a loo downstairs but our sofa isn't comfortable enough to sleep on! I've no idea how I'm going to get to the loo in the night as I can barely stand let alone take a step

Just a quick one to say Mamas and Papas have some maternity jeans down to a tenner, and free delivery. Only available in sizes 6 and 8 though.

Only sizes 6_8!! Umm nope not for me. I wish they were though great find. I have been led in bed awake because my legs hurt since 3.26! Not bothered getting up. Because my legs hurt and I was really hoping to fall back to sleep. Also got really bad acid reflux and a pot of burning acid in the back of my throat! Think today is going to be a struggle already ;-(:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

I am county council employee to so i think mine is the same so i could go off sick. i might struggle through next week and see how that goes.
Do you think a Tens machine would help my back? i am in constant pain with it because i have scolisis (curve in my spine) and the extra weight is not helping.
I have physio tuesday so might ask her if it would help?
I have never used one before can anyone recommend a good one or share thier experiances?
Jen, as i said in my prev post, i would seriously try getting your doctor to sign you off with stress due to the treatment you have had by your boss being unreasonable, not following you rights, and putting undue pressue on you. If you succeed, you get signed off, but if it is stress not pregnancy sickness, then you can't be put onto maternity leave early.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Hi Jenjade,
I would be careful about getting your doctor to sign you off with stress as it is not pregnancy related and would count on your sick record. If you are signed off with pregnancy related illness then your work can't put it on your sick record or take any sort of disciplinary action regarding sickness levels. I know where I work that 10 days sickness would trigger an investigation if it was "normal" sickness whereas pregnancy related sickness would not trigger an investigation no matter how long you are sick for...
Also, your work can't force you onto maternity leave if you are sick UNLESS you are sick with a pregnancy related illness in your last 4 weeks before your due date. If I was you, if you are unwell and need to be signed off I would go with the pregnancy related reason (which is the reason you are sick anyway!) as this can't be "held against you" at a later date.
I have been very sick throughout my pregnancy and unfortunately had to have a lot of time off because of it. As it was pregnancy related, work couldn't discipline me (much as they would have probably liked to!) or force me onto early maternity leave. I did end up taking early maternity in the end BUT this was because I was only getting stat sick pay and that is less than smp.
Hope this helps,

Morning everyone,
Hope you are all not having too bad a time of it, although it sounds like a few of us are in pain and sick at the moment
I have been missing for a few days as I went to visit my parents in Manchester and have been reading on my phone. Less than 2 weeks till my due date now! My best friend was looking at my bump and her prediction is that I'll go between the 1st and 3rd...I couldn't tell her I hope jot as the wedding is on the 5th as it is a big secret!!!!
I hope lovecrafting had a fab day on Friday. Has anyone heard from her?
We went shopping to one of the big towns on Friday and I can't believe how tired it made me. I wanted to get all our food shopping (well as much of it as we possibly could) for the month so we are stocked up and don't have to do it once baby is here (we are very rural) so it involved going to a few different places. I only managed half of it and we had to cone home as I was so tired and in terrible pain with my backwe went to the town near us yesterday and managed to finish it but I was completely wiped out. I think the fact that I am sleeping very badly at the moment didn't help. I just can't get comfy and get terrible heartburn when I lie down
I can't remember who it was who was thinking of the name zack but was worried about it being similar to jack...I would go for it. The two names are different and there is a big age gap between the boys. In my family we have 2 Olivias, a Helen Olivia, a Oliver and an Ollie! That might be a bit extreme but it all works out ok
Take care everyone,

Thanks macbird. The annoying thing is if they gave me an office type job for a few weeks I wouldn't need to be signed off at all! I don't expect I will see the doctor until later in the week then I think I will ask him to sign me off for 2 weeks with varicous veins in pregnancy. Same as I was off with last time! And write another note for change of duties. Then I will go back for a week and see what changes and contact HOUR if needed! I then have a weeks holiday booked followed by a week and a half work then I am done! Thanks everyone for the advice I feel stronger with your backing!:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

have you tired it Mirrorimage? how did you find it? what does it do?
yes i tried mine yesterday, as im now 39 weeks anyway, i had been throwing up the night before so had back ache yesterday and thought it an ideal time to try it out,
its got 4 sticky pads that you attach to your back (really helpful if someone else puts it on for you though) and 3 different settings with different levels (sounds confusing bit its only about 4 buttons in all)
i fount it helped me yesterday though and other people i know use normal tens machines for pain relief.now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0
