Strep B - was a routine urine sample as their was protein present when midwife dipped it. Came back from lab with a positive for GBS. It's not routinely tested for although many women are natural carriers.
I'm still disappointed but as many have pointed out at least we know. The consequences should baby catch it are horrendous and don't bare thinking about.
Have called labour ward. They said this is it but since I can still hold a conversation to stay home as long as I can bare it. Contractions are 3 mins apart now and quite painful.
Thanks for the good wishes guys

I had strep B with DD3, was found when i had routine swabs for thrush. This time, the consultant isnt even going to test for it, just treat me for it anyway. xx

Good luck Sammy! I hope everything goes well for you!
I'm sure it won't be long Jenjade, all the signs are there!
It's not my last day at work yet as I'll be in tomorrow (half day) then next week too but I have been told that it's my 'unoffical' last day, as half the team are off between now and next Friday so they want to give me my present etc while everyone is still in. Plus we're doing our secret Santa present swapping today, and having a team lunch.
Hope you enjoy your last day mozzy!
Congrats on V day Goppers, can't believe how quickly it's gone! I still can't believe I'm now 8 months pregnant... Everyone always says that it flies by but I didn't actually think it would! It seems like such a long time when you're only 6 weeks gone (and still peeing on a stick every week to check you're not imagining things...), and then all of a sudden you're 24 weeks, and then 36 weeks and there's not long left to go at all!:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Mozzy - that is a lovely gift! You can visit John Lewis baby department - it is dangerous, though....
Jenjade- sorry to hear your hips are aching! I know you want her out, but we all know that you can't force her! Maybe try bribery?
My hip is still painful as well, GP thought it was mild sciatica and would go away in a few weeks, but it is still here and I am sure it is the joint pain, or similar, and although it is not as bad as it used to be at the beginning, it is not going anywhere. It hurts when I walk or stand, I think it depends how I put my leg, but can never get it the right way, so I know not to step or walk in certain position. It hurts if I sleep on the left side any longer (I had some daytime naps where after 1.5h I would wake up because of pain). And it does hurt when driving as well - especially since this is the leg most in use (accelerator pedal...).
I am falling asleep! had toast with cheese (read salt can help to increase blood pressure, but I just feel sickly, although I know I not going to throw up). I don't want anything to eat, but I know that I will need to eat something in an hour or so, or I am going to get worse. And I am guessing, I will be napping on the sofa again... Just need to get on with the work!!!!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
