Thanks for the advice everyone... It is very warm in the office today (it always is :() but have been feeling little movements for the last hour or so. The lying down for an hour will have to wait until I'm home.

Have just been given some lovely presents from my team, some scratch mitts and hats, a hooded towel set, a cosy little sleep/pram suit thing and a £25 Next gift card, plus some 3-6 month sleepsuits too. My manager said some lovely things about how much I'm going to be missed too :)

Boo.. Sitting on the sofa having a little cry now. Blinkin' hormones. Dh just had a text from his parents, more or less uninviting us on xmas day, as they think it might be a bit hectic as they have BIL's family down, plus some of my SIL's friends, and whilst we CAN go if we want, it might be better to go another day. They are prob right- i might not feel all that sociable on xmas day if i am still HUGE, but it means we wont have a proper big family xmas meal now at all, and i feel a bit let down.
Dad and SM, are down at the coast having lunch with my dads side of the family at a restaurant, and its too far to go at 41 weeks. My mum and sister are going to be up at mums in staffordshire, which again is too far to go. DH and I have got a nice bit of beef in to roast over the hols that we can have, and some parsnips and yorkshires etc, but its not the same as a proper xmas jobby with all the trimmings and family, and i'm just not able to do one myself.
DH thinks i'm just a bit potty for being all tearful about it.

Trying to cheer myself up with how cute my 2 youngest furbabies look lying next to me cuddling each other 6553954601_d44d57931b.jpgon the sofa....

Aaah (((hugs))) Kira! It's so difficult to know what's best to do as you don't know when the baby might come. But then you feel like you want to do *something*, otherwise it won't feel Christmassy...

I guess maybe it depends how you feel on the day but I think if it was me I'd want to go to the PILs, it wouldn't feel right to me to stay at home and just have a 'Sunday lunch' type meal, even if there were crackers and paper hats... I love being with my family at Christmas.

Oh and your furbabies are very cute! Mine never cuddle up like that!

Thanks hon. They are a very cuddly pair, always snuggled up together somewhere, even though they were from different breeders, and we got them at different ages and times. Some days they are the only thing that cheer me up it feels like!

I guess we could still go to PIL, but it just feels like they dont really want us there now. The message defo had the under current of "come if you really want to but..." about it. DH said they had mentioned the others before, but i swear i've not heard a thing about it, and so it just feels like we will be a bit in the way and fitted in as "extra".
On the upside, i was humming about pushing for a sweep or induction at my consultants appointment tomorrow, as i dint want to be in over xmas and miss it all, but if we wont be having an xmas day anyway, it doesnt matter anymore.

In that case, to save yourself going all that way and feeling like unwanted guests, I'd get some other yummy bits of food in, and stay at home, don't get dressed all day, eat loads of food and watch rubbish Christmas tv and enjoy having time with your DH, just the two of you (and the furbabies :D), and make it a fab little cosy Christmas!

    Kira, lovely pets!

I would be very upset and annoyed if they did this so close to Christmas. Next year you will have a nearly one year old, and I am sure they will want to see the baby then! I am sorry this happened, they really behaved not nice at all.

Annabella, I've been feeling the same lack of movements, so I went into delivery for a check up, they put the trace on me for an hour or so and said it just looked like a sleepy baby. They told me to come in anytime I felt the reduced movements and they didn't make me feel neurotic about it. I have turned breech recently so that might account for the lack of stronger movements I'm used too. They also said have a cold drink, then have a hot sugary drink, then have some quiet time to check the movements. But to defiantly come in if I'm worried. I was tempted to go in again today, but after a double decker and a large glass of dandelion and burdock and I got a good kicking for 15 minutes, so I'm feeling more relaxed about it.
