Question for you ladies- suspect i know what you will say tho!. My feet have been swollen for ages, but not too badly, and go down if DH rubs them. Last 2 or three days they have really puffed up, and today they feel really tight and sore, so i just did a BP reading on my home BP reader, and its shot up- i've been around 120/70- 128/78 all the way through both at the GP/hospital and on the home one (so fairly confident it is calibrated right). At the m/w last week it was 140/70, but she wasnt worried as the lower number was the same, and said it was the pain making the higher number go up. Anyway, the reading i just got twice at home, was 158/98, which is ALOT higher.
I kind of think i should call the assessment unit, but i'm worried how to explain that it was a home BP reader, and that they will think i'm just an annoying hypochondriac!? I only got one cos being high BMI, i was told i was at greater risk of high bp and wanted to keep an eye.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

4nnabella - i would do what others have suggested and if baby is still quite then ring the midwife. Couple of weeks ago i went to the antenatel day assessment unit because i had reduce movement, they were fine, put my on a monitor. By the time i was on the monitor she was having a good move so everything was fine. They said to ring if movements were reduced again.
I've noticed i do get a couple of hours of reduced movement and i start to worry but then she goes back to beating me up again!
Kira your pets are lovely. You could of moved the quaitly street tin:pReally feel like chocolate now. We have a tin of something under the tree so tempted to unwrap it!!
I don't think there is any harm in ringing the assessment unit. If your worried then ring them
Went out with mum yesterday to work the dog and the pressure downbelow was getting quite uncomfortable, had to waddle during the walk! Then had a bit of pain when i got home. Had some pain across my stomach this morning but thats about it! Braxton hicks are becoming a bit uncomfortable.0 -
Kira could you not just phone anyway, as swelling is also a sign of other things. You could just say that is the main reason you're calling, and on top of that, your bp is high.DFD February 2012

Hello
After having my sweep on tuesday-i had some bleeding and cramping, then nothing much happened untill last night.
I went to run myself a bath-and popped to the loo to find i was loosing my plug. Lots of the snotty type stuff-defintetly not the usual type of disharge.
I then felt a lot of pressure down below, and some pain a lot like a contraction. My bump has dropped-thats for sure.
I can now feel the top of my ribs for sure, i had some more cramping on and off but nothing else till this morning. Today i have lost more of my plug and had teeny bit more bleeding with it (think thats from the sweep) and feeling quite a lot of pressure down below.
Just a waiting game now, i am really hoping my waters will go soon. If not-i'm booked in for another sweep and check up tomorrow morning.
oh and i had the best nights sleep last night-and have had no heartburn yet (fingers crossed because baby is a lot lower down).
Good luck to all that are due (or over due)-there's a lot of boldies!

Kira - Deffo give them a ring so they can double check you, dont worry thats what they are there for. Love your furbabies sooo cute!
Re the rude rellies, think possibly that the real reason could be that they are a bit scared they might have to perform MW skills or something (pathetic if that is the case though!!) so try not to take to heart. M&S does lush easy to prepare stuff perhaps oh could manage with a little help from M&S for xmas.
Jenjade - wafting some more labour vibes your way hun x
4nnabella - agree with what others say about trying cold drink and perhaps adding some noisy food eg crunchy coated nuts !! that wakes mine up. If in any doubt then dont be worried about ringing.
Sounds like you got some lovely treats today.
mozzy - the vouchers sound fab especially as sales coming up!!
Am laying on the sofa recovering after doing a mega clean dont know whats wrong with me !!!?

Keely - good luck! Fingers crossed for you!
I just checked the vouchers I have, and some of them expire very soon (like today!!!!), so when I am off to Boots to collect my order, i shall be making a few stops on the way to collect nappies from different places... OH might not be happy with me getting stuff already, but I am not going to let the vouchers to expire! I have £2 of Huggies, free Huggies starter kit from Asda, and £2 off Pampers. Plus - free changing bag from Boots when I buy Pampers nappies and free Avent bottle. I am getting them all...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Just catching up, been off doing more washing as I do not want another sleepless night worrying that we haven't got enough clean stuff for the baby! Only got a whole drawer full of sleepsuits and yet more on the drier...
Also got carried away and vacuumed the stairs and now my back hurts, and DH will probably tell me off when he gets home from work.
To all those worrying - definitely call the hospital, they can reassure you over the phone or get you in for a check if needed.
Had a call from my boss today. Apparently maternity leave doesn't mean they will leave me alone! One of my friends had a call from her work when she was booking in at the hospital in labour. If they do that to me they may hear a few choice words... On the plus side, got paid today and was expecting less money than usual as am now on 90% pay to about the end of Jan. Looks like we got a Christmas bonus as I got more than a normal month:j:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls
