just cos I'm bored anyone think of any cd's with some 'appropriate' lirics for labour-just want a giggle...

    Anything by Rush.... :)

I probably won't bring music in, as DH loves progressive rock, whereas my tastes are more towards death metal..... don't think the midwifes would appreciate either! Metallica or Slayer maybe, for a little bit of light music. I'm quite eclectic, have had a cd in the car for a few days now that has death metal, rock, some dance, and Egyptian Sumerian chants.... It drives DH crazy, as he has to listen to the same style when he has music on.

I feel awful- coughing, sneezing, runny nose, headache- really need to get it cleared up fast, before induction on Sunday.....
  • Ska music for me... maybe a bit of Reggae if I feel like something a little more relaxed... oh, and some Meatloaf :)

Hope you feel better soon Lirin!

    Afternoon Everyone,

Wow, lots has gone on lately - a few days to catchup is like reading a book!

Many congratulations to WW and ChuckNorris :T:T
    Have I forgotten anyone else?

I saw the GP yesterday about my suspected SPD, seems its not, merely a groin strain in his opinion. I was lacking a couple of the classic symptoms. I am happy to agree as it seems to be feeling a little better - perhaps I just needed the reassurance. However, I was a little disappointed I hadn't done anything fun to get the groin strain in the first place :p

    Any news from BM?

Loved the photo of Izzy, I might have to post a photo of my Snoop - we think he was dropped on his head as a kitten as he's a little simple but he's the sweetest, affectionate cat I've ever known :D

Anyone got any bump photos to share, I might put mine up if I can work out how to do it?

    Icey xx

Lirin - hope you feel better soon! As for the egyptian sumerian chants... that could confuse the MW ;)
I was dreaming about inappropriate labour/pregnancy song lyrics last night and came up with:

'Hit me baby one more time' Britney Spears
    'Hot in here' Nelly
'ice ice baby' errr vanilla who :rotfl:
'love shack, baby love shack' cant remember the band B52's? can you imagine the mw's face with that blasting out :rotfl:
I think hubby would explode if justin Bieber came on with 'baby'
    'Baby I love you' Ramones

At the risk of coming across completely mental (:D) found this song when googling baby if you are terminally bored and do click on it only watch the first 10 seconds to avoid permanent mental damage :rotfl:

Not that long ago there was something about the songs in labour on BBC2, must have been either the breakfast show or Simon Mayo, as I only listen to this when I am driving (well, used to) to work and back. I can't remember the songs now, but there was something that a midwife called in and told, it was accidental, as the song came up on the radio at the crucial moment, I remember laughing my head off, but for life of me I can't remember what it was now!

I am making the stew that OH wanted very much for the last few weeks, I have never made it before, but he left for work asking me to cook something with the overload of vegetables I bought last week, so I am obliging. However, once he is back from work, I am sure the stew will not be what he was expecting (it is a dish from his region).

Still with the headache - any tips how to get rid of it???? Paracetamol doesn't help, so stopped taking it, blood pressure was fine last week, can't check now as had to take the cuff to Boots to exchange for the large one so will take a while for it to arrive. It really is getting me down, don't know what to do! If I go to GP, he will just say keep taking paracetamol and mention to midwife, but that is not going to help. Can't wait till holiday as at least I won;t have to think about the work as well - my boss seems ignorant of anything and keeps loading me with more work to do, and I keep ignoring it due to tiredness/headaches.

Just back from my 38w (37+6) midwife appointment. Bean has had another growth spurt and am measuring 40w. Still firmly engaged, and bean has moved down further so at least i'm breathing ok. M/W is worried about beanies size and that i'm finding it so difficult to walk- my BP has gone up too due to the discomfort apparently. She wants bean evicted so she rang the hospital, and they cant see me till the 23rd (!) as this fridays clinic is fully booked. So booked in to see a consultant then, and will have to see what they say then, so looks like unless bean evicts herself, its a post xmas baby. I am on the list for this fridays clinic too in case of cancellations but they dont think its likely. Mentioned the bit of show and the damp pad this morning, and she said hard to tell if its waters or discharge, and to ring the day assessment if i notice another damper than usual pad.

Off for a curry tonight with my dad and Step mum, for DH's 40th. maybe that will help.
